21.01.2022 Where theres 1, theres always another! Did you know, Sailfish always hunt in groups containing roughly the same number of individuals that attack from the right as those that attack from the left. Each Sailfish learns to specialise in attacks from either the left or the right, enabling them to attack more effectively when their time comes. In this way, their prey is unable to predict from which side the attack will occur, making them incredibly effective hunters.

14.01.2022 Sensory cells in the nasal grooves above the mouth help Whale Sharks detect food in the water. It is thought that whale shark movement patterns are linked with spawning of coral and plankton blooms. To feed, Whale Sharks filter large quantities of seawater either by actively sucking water into their mouths, or by cruising along near the surface of the water with their large mouths open. By doing this they can consume large quantities of plankton and small animals, also supplementing their diet with larger prey such as squid or small fish including sardines, small tunas and anchovies.

02.01.2022 Often misunderstood, Spotted eagle rays have flat disk-shaped bodies, deep blue or black with white spots on top with a white underbelly, and distinctive flat snouts similar to a ducks bill. Their tails are longer than those of other rays and may have 26 venomous spines, just behind the pelvic fins.
