24.01.2022 We are looking forward to seeing our amazing Kids, Mids and Teens this week as we continue our focus on deadlifts. Our primary focus for this block is for our little champs to automatically pick up things from the ground safely and with correct deadlift technique. 22.01.2022 Mid line is a term used to describe an imaginary line that draws from the head to the feet that separates the left and right side of the body. Crossing this mid line means that a body part (eg: hand or foot) is able to spontaneously move over to the other side of the body to work there. Mid line crossing is important on the physical level as well as brain level. It assists with communication across the right and left sides of the brain, across the corpus callosum. ... This communication between both sides of the brain assists with coordination, learning and movement development. Before this movement is achieved developmentally, you may notice that a young child may tend to use right hand to right side or left hand to left side. As children progress with this skill, it encourages development of bilateral coordination skills. This means both sides of the body begin working together at the same time. We want to see rotation through the trunk, rather than a child’s whole body turning all at once. You can see this happening in activities such as pushing, pulling, crawling, and particularly in our CrossFit Kids,Mids and Teens classes during warm ups. #CrossFitKids #morethnagym #PerFitKids

18.01.2022 At the beginning of our classes, we spend time warming up and activating muscle groups in readiness for the workout ahead. We do this by contracting and isolating muscles and we want to get to a point where this becomes second nature, with muscles following the directions given from your mind with every movement. We can use resistance bands when activating. We focus on the flexion and extension phases, pausing and squeezing the muscles and being mindful of the speed, keepin...g movements slow and controlled. The reason for activating? You’ll see better results in muscle gain, strength and technique which reduces the risk of injury and makes for an amazing workout every time! #morethanagym #PerFitCrossFit #CrossFitKids

Instead you could try this WOD out:... Equipment needed trampoline, sprinkler, sunscreen and hat 20min AMBAP (as many bounces as possible) Sprinkler set up under your trampoline, jump on and bounce! We had an amazing day together last week during our ‘Kids Day Out’ and our feedback from the kids was that it was ‘heaps better than the last one!’ I’m pretty sure the jumping castle and Easter Egg hunt helped raise the standard!...
