In most cases it’s due to challenges with rider and/or horse asymmetry which is part of the reason why we always assess the horse statically and dynamically. This article gives you some tips to check your own balance and symmetry in the saddle. 11.01.2022 Interesting visual on equine back movement. I often talk to riders about this during fits, with relation to sweat marks and also the importance of lifting the saddle panels away from an exposed spine (A-framed horse)as the lower thoracic region of the spine has the most side to side movement whereas the base of the wither is the most static. This is also some of the reason why it’s important to balance the (correctly shaped) saddle and centre the rider’s weight at the base of the wither!

Suit an average curve, medium to high withered back profile that needs deeper rear panels. 03.01.2022 A pleasure to finally get to deliver and fit this very special Loxley Foxhunter! With an extra forward flap and the knee and calf rolls, plus a deeper seat than a standard jump saddle, it will support its rider, yet give her enough leg room to have a good jumping position.
02.01.2022 Last week we proudly welcomed Natasha Cockburn on to the Performance Saddlefits SA Erreplus rider team. Tash runs a successful riding school at Birdwood and competes her big gelding Coldstream Ulysses AKA ‘Noodle’ (can you guess why?? ) currently Medium shortly heading for Advanced. With their new Erreplus Freestyle I believe there will be no stopping them! Very much looking forward to working with them going forward, Tash is a truly lovely human being who spreads good vibes wherever she goes, and a great horsewoman too.
