20.01.2022 Go premium Aussie EVOO! Always have some premium Aussie Extra Virgin Olive Oil in your pantry - and give the European imported EVOO's a miss!!! I'll explain.... Over the last two years I have been fortunate to work with a Production Nursery in Mildura who propagate Olive trees for the Australian Olive Oil industry. I have learned A LOT. The Australian Olive industry is quite unique - 95% of our plantings go to EVOO - very little to the lesser quality market of 'refined olive ...oil', and almost none to the lowest grade 'pomace' - which is chemically and heat treated dregs. So our whole Olive Oil sector is focussed on quality, freshness and flavour - perhaps the best in the world! We have the best climate for olives, and have avoided diseases now seriously impacting Olive orchards across Europe. EVOO - Extra Virgin Olive Oil - is ALWAYS best fresh. Australian EVOO is as fresh as can be, and has not been containerised on a shop coming across the equator. Of course, we pay a little more - but I only use Australian EVOO where flavour is important. (For frying I use Rice Bran or Canola, for baking it's Macadamia, Hazelnut or other nut oils, for dressings - whatever suits the dish!) So enjoy your oils, and the right oil for the right food - but know that Australian EVOO is the best in the world! See more
