24.01.2022 I think this paper is convincing enough to start recommending this mouthwash (CB12) for halitosis. Nice. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com//10.1111/jcpe.12779/abstract

24.01.2022 Temporary Practice Closure. To our valued patients and Colleagues. Currently our practice has been practising social distancing with large time gaps between patients so as to avoid multiple patients in the reception area re: COVID-19. However we have made the decision to close from Friday the 27th March 2020. We feel this is in the best interest of a number of our patients (age/co-morbidities); aim to minimis...e the spread of the virus re: patient and staff travel; and restrictions on recommended practice currently from the Australian Dental Association re: aerosol generation and non-urgent treatment be deferred. We will be contactable via email, and our phones will continue to be staffed at this stage to assist emergency cases. We wish you, your families and our Medical colleagues all every best during these unprecedented times. Hopefully we'll all be on the other side of this bridge ScoMo is making for us shortly! 17.01.2022 Big changes with HBF removing all members plus agreements from 31st December! New arrangement will see changes to rebates and annual limits. Advice from HBF has been for all members with active treatment plan to check with them as any ongoing treatment past 31st December will have a change to the rebate. https://www.hbf.com.au//useful-artic/extras-cover-changes

05.01.2022 Happy New Year to all! Prof Bartold's group at Uni of Adelaide's published an interesting article demonstrating effectiveness of a probiotic "mouthwash" to reduce gingival inflammation and alveolar bone loss (in mice)... Nice. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jcpe.12838/full

04.01.2022 Congratulations to our Amazing Oral Health Therapist Emily Johnson, on the birth of your new Boy Thomas! Such happy news to hear you’re both doing well.... but sad to hear you won’t be rejoining us once off maternity leave... I’m sure whichever clinic you find closer to home... will be thrilled to have you join them. Thanks for the fabulous years you’ve been with us Em.

04.01.2022 We can’t wait to get back to see and treat our patients from Tuesday next week (28th April). This will be restricted to level 2 (guidelines attached)... so Nonsurgical Periodontal therapy with hand scalers...but nothing that produces aerosols (including a polish!). At this stage we’ll be referring any extractions that might generate aerosols to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Fingers crossed the PPE supply chains hold up for all sectors for us to stay open!... We hope everyone is safe and well.

03.01.2022 At Envision Radiology last night with some great collegues! Dr Koong and Huang explaining the change in legislation with the radiological council. WA dentists soon to be allowed to own and operate conebeam CT machines in their practices (in line with other states in Australia). The 3D images at this stage needing to be reported on by a Radiologist to check for any other nondental pathology (Different to other states, but in line with Norway and Sweden). Can't seem to see the legislation online yet however....http://www.radiologicalcouncil.wa.gov.au//FAQ/Dentists.html
