25.01.2022 Fluffbutts! Hatching now in Bruthen and going cheep These are mixed commercial layer offspring unsexed. Should lay well in 5 or 6 months.

24.01.2022 I usually say vote with your wallet but today it's vote with your fork! "It may seem a small thing to do (after all, everybody has to eat), but don’t be fooled. What you consume, where it comes from, and the way it got to your plate, matters. Lots of small decisions make big things happen. And at the end of every transaction is a person, just like you, who’s interested in sustainability, real food and the nutrient density of our food. And they’re truly thankful for the positive choices you’ve made."

24.01.2022 Grow more food and less lawn :)

24.01.2022 Don't think you've got enough (insert excuse here) to grow some of your own food? Think again :)

23.01.2022 In this introductory video to permaculture, Bill Mollison, the movement’s co-founder, takes the viewer through the history and developments of the movement. With startlingly laconic humor and insight he deconstructs the modern agribusiness and the modern plague : manicured ornamental lawns. In this video he offers an antidote, which is an antidote to both our currently unsustainable practices and our unsustainable culture. Both of these have to change and adapt. Permanently.

20.01.2022 We dont have to clear everything except lawn to prevent fire. Good design and appropriate plant selection can result in properties that are lush, private, productive and wont likely burn

20.01.2022 Anyone got these? Mulberry is one of the fastest growing temperate trees we know of, produces an abundance of excellent fruit every year and is virtually pest and disease free. It is one half responsible for the finest fibres known to man, i.e, silk, can be grown nearly everywhere that has soil and is a source of high quality animal fodder plus quite a bit more During this post we'll take a close look at these incredible plants including how to grow them, the uses of Mulberry, growing Mulberry in polycultures, permaculture and agroforestry and we'll introduce some relatively rare Bulgarian cultivars that we are offering from the bio-nursery next season.

20.01.2022 Anyone fermenting?

19.01.2022 Getting permaculture produce out there

19.01.2022 Agriculture can significantly decrease humanitys carbon footprint. We must aid, nurture, and care for our soil so that it can play this pivotal role in our fight against climate change. An investment in our soil now is an investment in the livelihood and health of generations to come.

19.01.2022 What a champion of the #observeandinteract principle. Massive wild food list in comments. He said farmers and agronomists produced fresh, safe, healthy food but often did not consider the nutritional value.

18.01.2022 Life brings life. Create abundance on the landscape with biodiversity. Its cheaper and healthier. Its economic. The only barrier is outdated culture. #earth ...#nature #environment #environmental #landscape #ecology #forestry #sustainabledevelopment #trees #science #facts #green #geography #animals #Plants #biologist #natural #Urbanecology #Britain #truth #canada #amazing #architecture #building #biology #toronto See more

17.01.2022 Removing 'fuel' from the bush is removing fungi food and drying and degrading/degenerating the bush. They say a "forest grows on a fallen forest". Remove too much of what falls (mechanically or with fire) and the forest will eventually cease growing. Chop n drop FTW

17.01.2022 Here's a teaser for some long awaited changes about to happen here at #DonellyVille :)

16.01.2022 Easter present

16.01.2022 Farming is typically degenerative to our land which eventually could lead to our demise. Charlie shows us not only that it can be REgenerative but that the simple changes required to achieve that are low cost, low effort, high profit, typically high production and also result in happier farmers! It really is win win. Now's the time to change

15.01.2022 The time is now

14.01.2022 We cant have permanence without repairing the damage weve done. Regenerative agriculture is the practice achieving that (along with greater profit) on the broadacre.

14.01.2022 After 15 years, theyre up to 15% organic matter from about 1% to begin with, and the water infiltration rates continues to go up, from less than a half inch an hour to over ten inches an hour". We have the knowledge and the tools can happen everywhere and would reduce flooding and drought, increase biodiversity and create healthier communities. https://rodaleinstitute.org//cattle-are-part-of-the-clima/

13.01.2022 Get amongst it broadacre permies

13.01.2022 Zone 5 planting! Hey Permies, come along on the 29th and help fight back against Climate Change and the black summer fires, stickybeak at some water harvesting earthworks happening at #DonellyVille farm and have a BBQ and a warming fire after the planting @PermacultureEastGippsland home base and three other sites.

12.01.2022 A mind opening read and the only realistic way human society will make it

12.01.2022 We can't achieve permanence through backyard gardens alone. Broadacre farm management needs to focus on regenerating the land. P.A.Yeomans Keyline Scale of Permanence provides a priority guide to planning the various factors of broad scale development. I hope you enjoy some of these classic documentary videos & interviews about this regenerative approach to land management. Videos and book download here

11.01.2022 Growing food can be done just about anywhere. Decades of abundance will come from this simple setup in seemingly impossible conditions. If he can do it, we can do it!

11.01.2022 Cool tool for element position planning. See where the sun and shadows will be at any time of day and year, anywhere on earth .

11.01.2022 Simply the greatest act

11.01.2022 Basic home positioning on a block. Something that can cause SO much energy consumption or discomfort if gotten wrong yet is seldom done right

11.01.2022 Management is the difference between degenerative and regenerative land use. Heres a source for info to prove it

10.01.2022 No dig all the way! If ever you think about digging in your garden, spend some time on Charles Dowdings YouTube channel first. Work smart

10.01.2022 This info is gold! Take care of the microbes and abundance ensues

10.01.2022 How are you planning to move forward to a better lifestyle after isolation rather than back to the old?

10.01.2022 Is your property an insect haven or desert?

10.01.2022 A new not-for-profit foundation, Permatil Global, has been launched, its aim is to grow permaculture across the globe: https://bit.ly/2UyOQWj

10.01.2022 No need for home electricity storage batteries.

09.01.2022 It probably should be 2030 but please sign this to help nudge #Scottyfrommarketing in the right direction

09.01.2022 Steak and sandwich raised and grown on one paddock. Regeneratively

08.01.2022 Stay-at-home. Dig in, make it better. Heres a free guide

07.01.2022 Free dirty movie!

07.01.2022 Ive studied permaculture and both online and in person permaculture earthworks courses and found the basics very interesting, logical and helpful but at the same time lacking in detail. I didnt find a real connection between what I got from the teachings and the real world when it came to earthworks underway on my property. This bloke seems to really nail it. A long vid but filled with useful guiding principles AND practical examples and tips. I thought of so many people that this knowledge (more deeply from the books) would greatly benefit. Its scalable so benefits every property from the smallest suburban home yard to the largest farm and regional planner. https://youtu.be/D6_WZ789lpM

07.01.2022 Now is the perfect time to convert a bit of soggy frost bitten lawn into productive garden. Also a great time to build an 18 day hot compost heap that will mature in time for September planting. #GrowFoodNotLawn

07.01.2022 End of lockdown approaches. Will we move on to a better future or back? We decide with our every action.

07.01.2022 Let me know what you think "In this episode Matthew digs deep on the underlying root causes of recent mega fires and and what to do to restore the land afterwards". Enjoy!

06.01.2022 Part of permaculture is design management of zone 3 and 4, the broadacre. Abundance is better achieved through thoughtful, regenerative adjustable practices

06.01.2022 Can anyone steer April Smith in the right direction to find some 20-30cm river rocks?
