23.01.2022 Join us on Saturday at 1 pm to 'Get Plastered' you can have a play with the materials we are creating the Carbonature works from. Its a BYO drinks as well. This will help get acquainted with the process and meet the participants in the project.

22.01.2022 One could say ‘Carbon is the stuff that dreams are made from’ and you would be 100 percent right. I’m not talking about a handful of diamonds, I am talking abo...ut something far more precious, Life. Every carbon life form on this planet owes its existence to two Carbon sugars. Without these Carbon sugars life as we know it would have never formed on Earth. This is the glue that meld’s our DNA. The Carbon sugars are the glue that holds not only our DNA together but everything. Trees, plants, fish, birds, animals, insects to the most basic of micro organism. It would be impossible for life on earth to exist without carbon. Carbon is the main component of sugars, proteins, fats, DNA, muscle tissue, pretty much everything in your body and everything that surrounds you in a garden. Carbonature is a celebration of everything Carbon. Life forms which inhabit our planet are the same as us, we are all held together by that same glue. Humanity does not extend itself to praise Carbon, we are living within the folly of progressing forward economically. The world of people suffers little regard of the consequences; hence Carbon has become our nemeses. We engage far more time talking about the negative aspects of Carbon than regaling in its wonderment and magic. We have never visualised ourselves on a molecular level so how could we see it anywhere else. Carbonature asks you to look at the perfection that Carbon brings to our world and become engaged with our fantastic planet through insight and realisation of the balance. We need an escape back to reality and we are staring at it. We lack a common language about our Carbon, let it speak for itself, you are apart of Earth care for it, as it cares for you every day. We need a common symbol that speaks to everyone without blame or bias. We need to be capable of believing in something that is true and not a myth or an opinion. This symbol is life energy and in its infinite form it feeds your body and soul. K Perrier 2019

22.01.2022 This video needs an airing, I know how I would do it again, but this is okay.

19.01.2022 A blast from the past, I found this and knew I should share it. This is a piece of Arm jewellery (sculpture) made from Cow Horn %90, buffalo horn, pearls, silve...r, sperm whale tooth fish carving. Its called 'Lost in the Backwash' and was created in about 1983? It was sent to an exhibition in Brisbane where it won a national craft award and became part of the National Gallery collection. See more

18.01.2022 Huge day on Monday 2 sculpture reveals, one cast of two people together and a face mold. Wow good on ya Sharon Rose and Margaret.

15.01.2022 This Poly, Glass Fiber Cement and steel sculpture of a four meter high tree was created for the 'Pemberly Sculpture in the Vines' Exhibition. It is a first time... use of materials for me and the colouring is a free style graphic representation of the 'Rainbow Tree' (Eucalyptus deglupta) from Queensland. Check them out on Google, they are incredible trees, beyond belief. The cast pewter insects including a frog and lizard were designed 20 odd years ago as learning aids for the blind. It is the first time I have included them together in a larger scale sculpture. Nice using a bit of colour as a change from the black charcoal that has taken up my world over the last few years. Hope you like it, and I hope it inspires small kids as well. See more

15.01.2022 What is an ARTIST. A thrill seeker, adventurer, frustrated idiot, sadist, home wrecker, spoilt brat, moron, idealist, realist, fanatic, magician, mother or fath...er, pretender, defender, radical thief, zealot, or creative innocent. Artists are the people who redefine the world you inhabit, they pursue the unknown and make it common. They adorn your body, pacify your soul, extract a reaction, determine the future, express a countries distress, deliver the difficult message, send you to sleep, inspire you, free you. Artists design everything you consume which does not come from the natural world or garden. Whether they are engineers, scientists, electricians, or programmers skilled in what ever product or material they excel in is a creative act this includes you. We live surrounded by products that were created to make our life better, different, accessible, edible, pleasurable, survivable if selected by you the consumer. Did you know that creativity enhanced everything within your immediate space (unless in wilderness). Your landscaping, your interior or exterior home, the choice of clothes you wear, consuming music, images, books, laughter, art, signage, clothing, tea towels, scissors or cars yet do you see it as being creative, your own creative act? Until you ask this question it may never become a connection you can master. Thankfully we have a continuing stream of creativity yet it comes at a cost, to your bank balance, sanity, health, environment, life style, and future and family. Artists are becoming a rare and endangered life form replaced by robots, uninspired consumers, the global stock market or cheap imports. Or is it that we have not connected it with who we are as a culture, I think it escapes most people. It’s a most simple solution to all individuals to gain a greater piece of mind about themselves. In some countries artist’s are recognised as national treasures for it is the essence of their ancient culture. In Australia artists are considered ‘kind of Artsy Fartsy’, a slight distraction from the norm or ones mundane footy fevered existence. A quick fix to alleviate the shit like the next Netflix extravaganza, a concert, a movie but when did you go to a poetry recital or an exhibition? It is astounding how many people have no clue about their own creative capacity or call it something else disguising its true relevance to themselves. Its generally someone else that has all the ‘smarts’. If Australian’s knew how the creative process worked within themselves it could become a creative country and grow a creative future. Communities that have a creative approach for the future inspire others to share their passion and so it grows. Communities that stand together become inspired by knowing where their creativity came from, how to recognise it and utilise it. Artists are a catalyst for creativity they are the reason we no longer live in caves.

07.01.2022 This is one that got away called Storm Bird sculpted in Soap Stone in the mid 1980's. The work is about 50cm W X 65 cm H if I remember rightly. Something positive for the day I hope.

06.01.2022 Join us at Ashbil Community Garden from 6:30 pm tomorrow on October 29th when we 'Torch the Totem'. 15 young people from Bridgetown High School have created cha...rcoal sculptures of their faces. 03.01.2022 It's time to share this again. After my exhibition this sadly came home and got packed up in 3 crates. The reef construction is gather dust and spiders homes. So this video was made last year at my 40th retrospective celebration. 40 years working in Bridgetown.

03.01.2022 I am pleased to be able to announce we have Main Roads approval for the Carbonature Sculpture Garden, thanks to Bridgetown's CEO Tim Clynch, the Shire Councillo...rs, Shire Employees and our growing Community of Carbonature supporters for your positive help to get this far. The garden will be created at the Corner of the SW Highway and the Nannup turn off at Brockman Hwy. The area is approx 1/4 acre of land. We will be at this Saturday's 'Bridgetown Agricultural Show' casting peoples faces to include in our Community Garden. It only takes about 10 minutes to be immortalised in the park for all time to come. The revised Carbonature Garden designs are finally here. Many of the trees have been chosen and an inventory of elements redefined. The Garden will hopefully have 5 waterfalls of varying sizes from 1.5 mtr high drop.
