25.01.2022 Update from parkrun Global Chief Operating Officer, Tom Williams Today’s update is to notify you that all parkrun events will now continue to be suspended until at least the end of April. This is in order to keep all parkrun countries following the same timeline for the moment, although we do expect suspensions to go beyond April. Click below for the update in full.

25.01.2022 Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we will continue to remain suspended throughout the month of May.

24.01.2022 Thanks to the 160 people who joined us this morning. The results and photos will be posted later today.

24.01.2022 There is some light at the end of the tunnel as parkrun plans to relaunch in New Zealand. Hopefully we won't be too long after... Here's the latest weekly update from Tom Williams...

23.01.2022 Hi all, A few people have asked whether we will be organising Christmas Day and New Year's Day parkruns this year (in addition to Saturday parkruns). As we are still operating under COVID-19 restrictions we are waiting for the go-ahead from parkrun Australia.... All of our parkruns have attendance limits at this time so parkrun Australia are modelling responses from parkrun surveys to try and estimate how many people could be attending these bonus events, so that we don't break any COVID restrictions and don't put any unnecessary additional pressure on volunteers. However, rest assured we have booked Perry Lakes Reserve for additional parkruns on Christmas Day and New Year's Day should we get the go-ahead from parkrun Australia. We expect the decision to be made by 7th December.

22.01.2022 We will be back. Thanks to our sponsors: Medibank Blackmores... The Athletes Foot Eukanuba Australia Sport Australia See more

22.01.2022 Good news for Perry Lakes parkrunners who like coffee. As well as the coffee cart that is often there at the finish line, a new cafe in Floreat forum "fave" is offering parkrunners a free coffee with any purchased meal 7-10am on Saturday or Sunday.

22.01.2022 Today's photos, thanks Pete and Charlene! See you next week :)

22.01.2022 So here's a challenge for your next run. Can you spell parkrun, using the first letter of street names on your run route? See example as completed by regular parkrunner Julie Storey.

22.01.2022 Whilst Perry Lakes parkrun takes a break for (at least) 2 weeks, we thought it would be good whilst we are social distancing to set up a group page, so that we can still interact together. The group is set up for parkrun, running or community related posts by all. If you are a follower of this page and/or regularly visit Perry Lakes parkrun. Please feel free to join the our group.... Please note that we are discouraging the use of this group (during this pandemic crisis) for arranging large group runs in place of parkrun.

20.01.2022 Before we launched Perry Lakes parkrun we put out an appeal for a core event team and Bethan was one of a few people who answered our call. Bethan has been a valuable member of our parkrun team since. From the planning and course design stage of our parkrun, through to operating a weekly parkrun event. Bethan has decided now that Perry Lakes parkrun is well established, to step back from the role of Run Director. Tomorrow will be Bethan's 13th and last stint as RD and 23rd time volunteering at parkrun. From all of the Perry Lakes parkrun community. THANK YOU Bethan, for all that you have done for our community and event. We hope we still see you from time to time on a Saturday morning.
