25.01.2022 In case you have not seen it .... get ready for a treat! In what has been an unprecedented year for basketball , we are very grateful that not only did our SBL players get to play in the West Coast Classic but also our WABL and domestic competitions were able to take place. We are so proud of both our Women’s and Men’s teams making the Grand Finals in the WCC and for the chance to not only play the sport we love but to develop our young players through the WCC season. Thankyo...u to @basketballwa and SBL and to all the other associations and everyone involved, who worked to make this happen. 22.01.2022 Nat played all her juniors with Perry Lakes Hawks before commencing her SBL career in 2006 with the Lady Hawks. She has played 151 SBL games with the Hawks including winning a championship in 2017. Nat also pursued a College career at West Virginia Mountaineers from 2008 until 2012 and joined the West Coast Waves (now the Perth Lynx) in the WNBL for the 2012-2014 seasons before moving to the BA centre of Excellence for 12 months and onto the Melbourne Boomers in 2014-2015. Na...t returned to Perth and joined the Perth Lynx for the 2015/2016 & 2016/2017 seasons. Nat has also represented Australia as a member of the Opals team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. The Sydney Flames is Nat's team for the WNBL 2020/2021 season. 06.01.2022 NBL1 WEST SEASON 2021: The SBL has a new name and fresh new look, with Basketball Western Australia (BWA) joining the NBL1 family. NBL1 West is a new way of delivering basketball to West Australian’s and the world. Each game of the 2021 season will be Live Streamed through the NBL1 website and NBL App, with unprecedented highlights packages delivered for our players and new viewing experience for our League.... In partnership with BWA, the NBL are seeking expressions of interest from those interested in becoming an NBL1 Live Stream Producer. The role entails becoming the primary contact on game night for the NBL broadcast team and the set up and operation of Live Stream equipment and commentary gear (excluding commentating). The successful application should possess; An understanding of basic video camera operations An understanding of basic technical set up A love for sport and a passion for excellence Producers will receive and honorarium of $100 per double-header game night for their services. You will need to be on-site a minimum 1 hour prior to tip off and remain until the pack up is complete. Expressions of interest should be made to Jenny via email [email protected]

04.01.2022 - Basketball WA is pleased with today's Government announcement that ...Pre-Lockdown conditions will resume across the Perth and Peel regions. From 12:01 Sunday 14th February 2021, masks will no longer be mandatory, along with the removal of travel restrictions between Perth and Peel. During the last two weeks, our basketball community saw the cancellation of Week 2 and 3 of the BWA Country Championships. While we were disappointed, it was necessary to ensure the health and safety of our community. 4 . All competition may continue following safe/hygiene guidelines Recent Changes to WA’s Contact register system and SafeWA will remain in place. Signing in is required at all relevant venues and penalties apply. If you are unwell, please get tested at one of the COVID WA Clinics. Do not attend basketball training or competitions if you have a fever, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath. Please seek medical advice and get tested. A 2 square metre capacity rule is in place for venues. Associations and clubs must ensure they meet these requirements for their venues. Following healthy hygiene guidelines. Wash your hands regularly. Ensure you bring a towel and labelled water bottle to games and training. Avoid sharing food and beverages. Wipe down score benches & team benches in between games. Our community's safety and health are a priority, so we will continue to follow the latest guidelines and requirements.
