05.01.2022 FOCUS ON BUSINESS . Perry's Footwear, Stawell and Ararat. . Due to the nature of the business (fitting shoes) Perry's Footwear took the directive to close ...their store very seriously as it's impossible to social distance effectively whilst assisting people trying on shoes. They closed their store for four weeks from the end of March and were absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and the level of support received from the community. They even had a beautiful customer ring up and purchase herself a gift voucher to use at a later date to help a little financially and many customers contacted the business to purchase shoes which were happily delivered to them. COVID pushed the business owners way out of their comfort zone and made them make the decision to open an online store to allow customers to still access products and continue to support the store. The constant comments received from customers told the store how nice it was to still be able to shop locally without risk of having to leave home and confirmed to the business owners they had made the right decision to move with the times. As challenging as this time has been they feel so truly grateful to be a part of such a strong community of people who have genuine concern for the wellbeing of each other.
