25.01.2022 May 14, National #Ferdowsi Day 1000 years ago, when the #Persian Empire was invaded by its Arab neighbours, it was on the edge of losing its rich cultural and ancient history to the invaders. It was in such a crucial and chaotic situation, where one of the main pillars of the Persian Culture, the Persian language was in danger of extinction and in desperate need for a saviour that a national literary hero emerged. A great Persian Poet, known as Abul Qasim Ferdowsi. He is the author of #Shahnameh (The Book of Kings), the world’s longest epic poem written in pure Persian and contains more than 50,000 couplets.

If you like to travel to Iran but worry about tourists safety, I believe you should read about my experience. The media bias and publicized reports have many people believe that Iran is an unsafe country. But my own experience proved quite the contrary. As a woman and a solo traveler, I cleared my mind of misconceptions. First, I searched for the roots of this myth and I found out that the strategic location of Iran in the Middle East, one of the most disputed and conflicted regions of the world, is the leading reason. However, I saw for myself that Iran is not only the safest, but also one of the developing countries in the Middle East. Second, I searched for the street safety and realized that I can walk safely on the streets and instances of sexual harassment or abduction toward foreigners are rarely heard of. Now, I understand that if I survive crossing the streets, probably nothing else may threaten me during the journey!
