25.01.2022 I'M DEFINITELY NO YOGINI Moving the body in multiple ways takes time to improve, it feels amazing when you open up the hips and thoracic spine! Weight training, lifestyle stress and running all limit our function (how we perform or move).... I recommend making the time daily (or at least more than your doing now) to sink into a few yoga stretches to help with your progress. Go chase today's energy...it's there to be taken!



24.01.2022 Sustainability is really important if you want to keep your result! A massive part of the community are very good at extreme attempts of losing weight fast through 8 week challenges, crazy detoxes, zero carbs, intermittent fasting, paleo...blah, blah, blah.... But terrible at keeping the benifits long term!... I just don't understand why you would cut everything, totally destroy and mix up your metabolism and deplete your energy to 'try' and get a positive outcome - there is actually nothing positive about this approach (to your health) and EVERY time you do it....it just makes things SO much harder. Thankfully Grant has not followed the short term approach and is still charging forward by commiting to another 12 months of FIRE training in 2021. 18kg lighter...

19.01.2022 The simple act of cutting veges can be one of the best habits you can create! Never cook or prepare for one! Make bigger batches = more nutritious meals!

19.01.2022 When running some will look at this as a huge obstacle, a negative and maybe even avoid it. I personally see it as a huge way to get stronger, a positive feeling of getting better and tackling the uncomfortable. No one every achieved much in the comfort zone...push through it and keep climbing!

Most people fall short as their target is watery, which then leads to skipping workouts and making bad food choices. They become impatient, because the goal is unclear. 13.01.2022 One thing I've learned that has helped me run ultra marathons and grow a business for over 16 years is There are things that you can control that will help you grow as a person, And There are things that you can't control no matter what you do.... No matter what the leaders of our state decide to do, lock down or no lock down you can still work on yourself, get your workouts done and stay healthy. You control that not anyone else! You can control your own future and your own health. You can control the intensity and frequency of your workouts, you can control what time you go to bed, you can control what food you eat, you can control how hard you work. 2020 has been testing but also has forced many people to look differently at their life, in more detail and at a deeper level, which is definitely a good thing. Some insightful questions I ask myself and my current clients that may help you also What can I change, to help me become more productive? How can I get to the next level in my business or healthier lifestyle? Am I on the right path or do I need more clarity on exactly what I want to achieve in my health and fitness? Here’s the thing change is hard. COVID 19 made us change, weather we wanted to or not we all got pushed into a corner and had to step up. Some lost their jobs, some lost thousands of dollars in business, some had to work extra hours to make the same, some got sick, we all got isolated but MOST of us survived. Remember no one can do it for you! Control what you can control and develop a stronger mindset. Look ahead, Set goals and go kick them! Matt

04.01.2022 FLAT OUT... Building consistency with training and good nutrition should be your only focus if your not applying it. Adaptation then occurs and our bodies build stronger, recover faster and energy levels rise.... Once we have a structured and consistent foundation - intensity of training should improve to avoid the dreaded plateau (and lack of motivation). Fabulous week achieved by the FIRE clients for ticking off their conditioning week with maximum energy expenditure Next week we drop the reps down to 10 and look to nudge up the weight a little with strict form being the priority. 02.01.2022 It's getting to that time of year... Discipline is needed even more to stay on track. Celebrating with work colleges, friends and family is great (and essential for many) but if your not disciplined a massive part of your hard efforts over the year can certainly slide and spiral out of control.... Sorry to be a kill joy, but it's reality! Here's what you can do: 1. If your going to a function, drive and just have one or two drinks but still enjoy the event. 2. Eat a super nutritious meal before going out, then only 'sample' a little finger food 3. Commit to 30 - 60 mins exercise everyday while on holidays (you have more time) 4. Book ahead into commiting to a exercise program (pay in advance or sign up so you are locked in) 5. Sign yourself up to a bigger scale (slightly scary) race or adventure, running, tri or hike. This is a way to celebrate your health, by using your body and making it stronger Have a cracking week
