25.01.2022 Monday is booty bands day ! This class has the option of just using the bands or using the bands AND holding a weight for extra intensity. This class is perfect for beginners because it is low impact and the movements are simple (but effective ) ... Dont miss your shot on this one, it books out quick !



25.01.2022 HIIT or SST ?? Well as I preach to clients, do what you can do consistently. For instance if you hate HIIT but force yourself for the results then chances are you will not be able to sustain this in the long term and therefore it is more beneficial for you to stick with SST. HOWEVER, if you are somebody who enjoys both and looking for an evidence based answer then keep reading. Studies have shown that HIIT training is more efficient at fat loss than SST. I often get asked h...ow a 20 minute HIIT session can be more effective than say a 45 minute jog, you burn more calories in a 45 minute run, and its all about calories in and out right? Well yes, you may expend more energy during an SST session however HIIT sessions generate higher excess post exercise oxygen consumption. This means that you burn MORE calories AFTER your workout. 21.01.2022 My opinion on rest days ? This is a question Im often asked from people who start out thinking that more is better. Rest days are important. Not just because your body needs that rest and recovery to build but for your mental health. My opinion is the best workout schedule is the one you can stick to for the long term. You are better off having 3 rest days a week and sticking to your workout regime forever, Than to train 5-7 times per week for 10 weeks, run your body into ...the ground and then stop completely. Or worse, result in an injury that prevents you from training. Take your rest days ! Enjoy your time with your friends and family and your body will thank you for it. Fitness is a lifestyle, not a destination

18.01.2022 10 weeks post partum update Long post alert *** Ok so losing the baby weight is a little tougher than I remembered I think I was looking back with rose coloured glasses and forgot how hard it was to juggle mumlife and finding time to keep fit and eat well. ... Its only now that Im starting to feel like I have the slightest bit of routine back in my life and have managed to line up my babies naps so that I get a whopping 2 hours a day to get things done. This of course includes a visit to my gym. As promised I will keep you updated on my journey back to fitness post partum and it will be completely honest. No its not easy, No the weight hasnt just fallen off with breastfeeding, No its not easier because Im a trainer. Its a constant battle of juggling whether working out or sleeping is a wiser choice, its resisting the temptation to guzzle down all of jayces snacks for a quick hunger fix rather than preparing my own meals and trying to find ways to fit in accidental exercise each day. Ive found the key is to not put expectations on myself and take each day as it comes and to just do my best Currently training 3-4 times a week for roughly 40-50 minutes. Still taking it super easy In the gym and easing my body back into training. Nutrition I have been following a mealplan I bought from a nutritionist (not 100% but just what I can manage) Currently 2 kgs away from pre baby weight (although weight is not a great gauge its the only measurement I have time for atm ) Working to tone and shape my body again but mostly working towards feeling fit and strong again

17.01.2022 If youve changed up your workout routine to home workouts but need some added intensity I would highly recommend resistance bands. They are small and dont take up a lot of room in your house, they are affordable and they can make you sweat While having a gym with weights and equipment is certainly handy, it is not necessary to get an effective workout

15.01.2022 Ok a little confession. I usually dont prioritise the time to cook. I pick meals that are healthy and align with my goals but are still quick easy and require a small amount of ingredients. While in isolation and reduced working hours I have been making more of an effort to make tasty vegan meals. Although as you can see I am yet to master the skill of making my food look pretty maybe that will be next. Here I have made a vegan Alfredo the sauce is made up of cashews, on...ions, garlic, vegetable stock, nutritional yeast, miso paste and nutmeg and then Im using buckwheat spirals as my pasta. Eating healthy CAN be fun and tasty

12.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW that you can create the same concept as a drop set at home with just your bodyweight? There are many ways to progress or regress an exercise. In this instance I have started by adding an element of instability to a pushup, then regressed to a push-up on toes, then regressed it to a push-up on knees. This one is a burner !

So if you’re sitting on the fence about making the purchase and looking for something to kick start your health journey this may be an option for you I encourage my girls to wear their fitness trackers when in the gym. They are a great tool to monitor daily activity and intensity of workouts.

06.01.2022 Such amazing results, and to think part of this was achieved over covid isolation. Chelsea attended all the zoom classes and was one of the first ones back in my studio when I opened up the doors. Over the 12 weeks chelsea worked with me focusing on strength training and building muscle and also worked with a nutritionist to make sure her food was on track.
