19.01.2022 With low rates of indexation over the last 10 years, why are insurance premiums increasing so significantly? Challenges facing the insurance industry These include increasing heavy losses due largely to high income protection (IP) claims, heightened lapse rates and continually reducing interest rates that are heading closer to zero. Over the past 5 years, the life insurance industry has lost around $4 billion on retail IP products including a $1.47 billion loss in calendar... year 2019. 14.01.2022 Beware of COVID-19 Fraud: It has come to our attention that scammers have made applications to the ATO to withdraw funds from super under the COVID-19 early release scheme. They are changing bank accounts so that funds withdrawn go to their accounts. The ATO and super funds are onto it however, I implore you to be vigilant about reading and responding to communications from your providers so that you can catch the fraud prior to it occurring. ... If you hold your life/TPD insurance in your superannuation fund, be extra vigilant because a low balance resulting from a transfer of funds could mean that you risk losing your insurance and leaving you and your loved ones exposed. 12.01.2022 What a sad day here in Victoria with the tragic loss of 4 policeman. It's unbelieveable that such a horrible accident could occur that has taken the most police lives in a single incident EVER and especially when the roads are so unusally quiet due to the COVID-19 measures. Terrible. Perspective is across the road from the Prahran Police Station. We have a charming cafe 2 doors up from the station, Aura espresso bar. They are also struggling in the current environment.
