21.01.2022 You may know us for Hypnosis and you would be right, but there is another arrow in our quiver. Carol Vaughan (BA Psychology (Counselling)), one of our Hypnotherapists here is conducting a Meditation Workshop on Sunday 10th June. If you have ever said I can’t meditate, but I’d like to then this simple method is the one for you. ... Registrations close this Friday 25th May at 5pm. Numbers are strictly limited. She is so looking forward to sharing this invaluable life skill. The details can be found here - https://1drv.ms/w/s!AnalRkjmpwcz418w94az3i1f9dWZ

20.01.2022 Dear Clients and friends I am taking the unusual step of writing to you to provide you with an update of the Corona Virus and how this may affect your attendance at Perth Hypnosis Centre. As you well know, the situation with the Corona Virus is quite 'fluid' and changing on a daily basis. With the recently announced Covid-19 pandemic by the World Health Organisation, Perth Hypnosis Centre is committed to safe practices in line with health updates being provided to the commun...ity. Firstly, I would like to let you know that Perth Hypnosis Centre remains open for business as per usual. We are still seeing our clients face to face as we would normally do. We are however, encouraging all our clients to engage in good hand hygiene by washing their hands on entry for their appointments, either via hand sanitiser or soap in the bathroom. Our therapists also wash their hands in between clients as a matter of protocol and we will continue this practice. We are encouraging "social distancing" by which we mean no hand shaking. Social distancing and good hand hygiene is an effective way of reducing the spread of the illness. Should you be feeling unwell, we encourage you to contact the clinic as soon as possible and we will reschedule your appointment. For the time being, we are waiving the late cancellation fee for illness, however, it is really important that you contact in advance as we have clients waiting for appointments. We would like to reassure you that all our therapists are committed to the health of the community broadly and have a heightened awareness of hand and environmental hygiene, as well as their own health status. What does this mean for you? Our therapists will take the time between client visits to wash their hands and to wipe over surfaces. They will also not attend work if they have cold or flu symptoms or may put others at risk. What does this mean for us? That we ask that you are also aware of your own hand hygiene and health status. As the Owner of Perth Hypnosis Centre I’d like to personally thank you for continuing to support our business, and particularly at this time of community disruption. Most importantly, it is easy to become quite anxious and overwhelmed at the moment, particularly with the 24-hour news cycle and social media. Frequent attention to information around Corona Virus can keep you in a heightened sense of anxiety and stress. We encourage you to take breaks from social media and news outlets throughout the day. Best regards Phil Harrison

19.01.2022 I’ve been noticing more and more ads on Facebook (leading up to those New Years resolutions) for miracle cures to the smoking habit. To each of them, I respectfully call BS. Nicotine is not addictive. If it was, it would be illegal to sell over-the-counter (just like codeine). Although the placebo effect is completely valid, beware of people trying to sell you a fake cigarette, pill or potion with positive reviews and recommendations from fake FB accounts.... The ability to break any habit - and that’s all smoking is - a habit - lies entirely within the subconscious mind. One session. 2 hours. $425.00 (which the average smoker will recoup in the first month) and the only hypnotherapy practice in WA that will offer an unconditional 12 month free back up. Check out our no BS website at www.perthhypnosiscentre.com.au for all the details. Merry Christmas!

17.01.2022 We all know that we are conscious. Every morning when we wake, we regain our consciousness. Rene Descartes said (a rough translation from the Latin) I think, therefore I am. But here’s a good topic for a dinner party conversation. We have no evidence to suggest that consciousness originates in the human brain.... Think about that. Think about it. If we are conscious, then the potential for consciousness was present at the origin of the universe. Think about it.

17.01.2022 Merry Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Solstice to all our friends.

15.01.2022 Thanks to our wonderful clients and brilliant therapists, we have just been named number 1 in the top 3 hypnotherapists in WA. So proud of the work we do together.

14.01.2022 Just another way for your subconscious mind to work with you.....

13.01.2022 From Monday 30th March, 2020 in addition to our standard therapy appointments, Perth Hypnosis Centre will be introducing private online hypnosis sessions at no extra cost to our one-on-one in person sessions. Experience the dynamics of hypnosis in the comfort and security of your own home. All you need is a good internet connection and an App such as Zoom (recommended) or Skype (although a set of headphones is also recommended to fully experience the nuances of voice tone a...nd range). The effectiveness of an online session is absolute and no different to being in the direct presence of the therapist. Sessions will normally take 90 minutes to 2 hours and an audio recording of the session will be provided to you after the session is completed, so you can take full advantage of the therapy. We will update our website shortly with a page devoted to online sessions. In the meantime, please email us at [email protected] for further information. In addition, due to the anxiety faced by many in response to the Covid-19 virus and the constant exposure to social media and 24 hour news feeds, we would love to offer the followers of our Facebook page a free session on relaxation recorded by Phil. Drop us an email via our website at: www.perthhypnosiscentre.com.au and we will forward you a link to the recording, with our compliments. Not only will it relax you, but it will teach you how to relax. Something very beneficial facing self-isolation.

10.01.2022 Well, thanks to our brilliant team and our amazing clients, we’re number one again!!

10.01.2022 A picture paints a thousand words...

04.01.2022 To our past clients - Channel 9 are planning an upcoming report on the benefits of hypnotherapy and want to feature Perth Hypnosis Centre. If you have a great story to share and would be happy to participate in an on-camera interview, then PM me. I understand some issues are private and that as a client and therapist we share an enormous trust, but if you feel that your story could direct others toward hypnotherapy as an effective method of change, we’d love to hear from you.... Kindest regards Phil Harrison

02.01.2022 Here’s a quick quiz. Who are the most violent people in the majority of families? This family member uses anger as a defence.... If this family member doesn’t get his/her way, violence is likely. If hurt or offended, this family member wants to hit or throw something. Did you guess that the correct answer to each question is not father or mother, but a child under three? The trick of the quiz is the word violence, which makes us think of damage. Toddlers do little or no damage with their violence - they’ll hit you with a tissue or stomp their feet, scream or flail in the air - so we tend to not think of their behaviour as violent, although it is. The point is that aggressive anger and violence (when not direct self-preservation) is not adult; it’s childish. It comes from the Toddler brain and needs to be regulated by the Adult brain. Mistakes we repeat with regularity rise from the Toddler brain. They turn short-term setbacks into long-term losses and temporary pain into long-term suffering. Have you been making poor food choices again and again? Toddler brain. Have you been using excuses for not exercising? Toddler brain. Have you been allowing anger to make you constantly react to a person or situation? Toddler brain. Have you reached for chocolate or a cigarette to help you to relax? You got it. Toddler brain. In the Adult brain, we learn from past mistakes, grow from them and soar above them. Hypnosis, baby. Yeah.
