21.01.2022 BUSHFIRES - How can you help? Crocheters and knitters are needed to help our wildlife effected by these fires. The Facebook Group, Animal Rescue Craft Guild, is in need of bat wraps, pouches for small and medium animals, hanging joey pouches, koala mittens, crocheted birds nests, knitted and crocheted blankets. Their Group has files with the patterns for the above supplies.... Please visit their page for all information and where to send items: https://www.facebook.com/groups/arfsncrafts/ For people effected by the fires: At the moment, many of the evacuation centres have enough supplies, though we recommend to check the website/FB sites of local charities, shelters, hospitals or the local Rural Fire Service to see if there is any need for crochet/knitted items. It is already a tough Bushfire season, so even whipping out those hooks and needles now and get crafting means we're all prepared to help our fellow neighbours. Take care everyone and happy crafting. And remember, check your local RFS if their team is in need of water, lollies, hydration tablets and/or home cooked meals. There are plenty of hero mouths to feed.
