19.01.2022 Pornography - a stealth global public health crisis in our midst !! Yesterday, I attended the 3rd Perth Symposium on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention -"Harmful Sexual Behaviours in Children and Adolescents." One focus was on Pornography presented by Liz Walker, who is profoundly passionate about this. The global epidemic of young children and adolescents accessing porn on any device they get their hands on, is really and truly alarming !! Children who are accessing porn are often then enacting what they have seen and "learnt" on other young children and adolescents. Below is the adverse effects of porn which contribute towards harmful sexual behaviors in children, adolescents and adults. All parents need to be aware of the major impact on children and adolescents who are accessing porn.

13.01.2022 Lessons We Can Learn From Dogs if they were our teachers by Bob Schieffer Always run to greet loved ones when they come home. Never pass the opportunity to go for a joy ride.... Recognize the ecstasy of fresh air and wind in your face. Take naps. (I do that!) Stretch before rising. Run, romp and play daily. Thrive on attention (I do that) and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, lie on your back in the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and find the shade. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. Enjoy long walks. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want is buried, dig deep until you find it. And, when someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. We'd be better off, better people . . . if we acted more like dogs.

12.01.2022 ASD - Diagnostic Assessment of Children & Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Conditions - Referrals In June 2018 in Perth, I attended once again a 3 day Seminar with both Professor Tony Attwood and Dr Michelle Garnett from Minds and Hearts, as they presented their exceptional knowledge and experience of all aspects of the diagnosis of ASD in children and adolescents. In my considered professional opinion they are both without any doubt, at the cutting edge of the diagnosis of c...hildren and adolescents in Australia. They present their extensive knowledge collaboratively, with the most profound passion, energy, enthusiasm, humbleness and with humour. It was very clear to me how critical it is to ensure one keeps abreast of the scope of the changing landscape related to Autism Spectrum Conditions. This knowledge is critical for all professionals involved with assessment, diagnosis and management, school teachers and employers. 10.01.2022 George Pell Judgement & Sentencing by His Honour Chief Judge Kidd. I have read the Judgement & Sentencing document very carefully. Under the heading; Victim Impact Statement of Rs Father at Point 41 is stated the following and I quote .. It is common ground between the parties that Rs death is not related to the offending against R. This statement of common ground does not appear in my opinion, to have taken into account the grounds for Rs use of heroin, which apparen...tly began at 14 years of age, within a year of the CSA towards him. It is common clinical knowledge that victims of CSA often resort to the use of drugs, to medicate their profound emotional and psychological distress from a traumatic event/s. In my opinion, there is in fact, a direct causal link between R experiencing CSA and his commencing Heroin drug use, which continued for many years until his death. It is in fact immaterial whether his death from Heroin was accidental or deliberate, the fact is, in my opinion, there would be little doubt, R was using Heroin to medicate his pain from the impact of the CSA on him. This is the most excellent clear, short and succinct definition of parental alienation I have read to date. The operative words here for me are; "where a child's rejection of a parent is unjustifiable." I would now like to add the converse comment if I may, "where a child's rejection of a parent is justifiable, then it is NOT parental alienation."
