25.01.2022 Who was that masked man? The West Coast Eagles have landed back in Perth but will they have a home final or stay top four and have to travel? Good news was Josh Kennedy seemed to be moving well. Coach Adam Simpson made a quick dash for his car, no doubt grateful his boys made it through the carpark without any additional hamstring, ankle, groin, knee, calf, back, finger or thumb injuries!

23.01.2022 It’s been 50 years since Cathay Pacific first took to the skies from Perth. Back in 1970, we welcomed a Convair 880. Last night, we welcomed back the A350-1000 to help Australians that need to travel at this time. Cathay Pacific will be operating five flights from Perth to Hong Kong and beyond on the following dates: 3, 4, 23, 25 and 30 September. Welcome back, Cathay Pacific.

22.01.2022 No need to call Border Force we don’t think this is a budgie smuggler! But this guy did make a bit of a galah of himself when he missed our main runway during the morning beak arrivals period. Lucky for us the team in the Air Traffic Control Tower are completely unflappable.

21.01.2022 We assume the telegram from the Queen is on the way! Congratulations to Qantas on notching up 100 years of flying in Australia. Here’s to the next 100!

21.01.2022 It’s plane to see this is a nice spot for a bit of spotting Our Outdoor Viewing Platform on Dunreath Drive will re-open tomorrow, Wednesday 16 September. There aren’t as many planes arriving and departing but we have had some rarecraft drop in for a visit from places like Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Israel.... Please enjoy your visit and remember to practice social distancing and BYO hand sanitiser. The Public Viewing Area at T1 International remains closed until further notice. For more information please visit https://fal.cn/3ajWO

19.01.2022 Today, we remember their service and sacrifice. Lest we forget. #RemembranceDay

19.01.2022 Just passing, thought they’d drop in. This Bombardier BD-700 Global Express called in to Perth this morning, having flown almost 6,000km from Guam not a regular departure point for flights to Perth Airport! The BD-700-1A10 is a twin-engine long-range corporate jet aircraft which can carry up to 19 passengers, with a maximum speed of 950 km/h and a maximum range just shy of 12,000 km.... Wonder if any of our spotters captured it from our re-opened Public Viewing Platform off Dunreath Drive?

19.01.2022 As part of our commitment to NAIDOC Week, we’re showcasing some of the artwork of The Herbert Mayer Collection of Carrolup across our digital screens in our terminals. The Carrolup artworks were produced by Aboriginal children stolen from their families and detained at the Western Australian Carrolup Native Settlement in the 1940s. The John Curtin Gallery is currently working to secure a permanent space for this important collection. The works will be on display at the John C...urtin Gallery until 13 December. For more information, visit: https://jcg.curtin.edu.au/carrolup_home/

18.01.2022 Tonight, I’ll be eating. 30 tonnes of western rock lobster! How's this for a home delivery? Xiamen Airlines popped into Perth Airport last night we think for their first ever visit (but we’re sure one of our aviation buffs will soon correct us.again!)... The 787-8 dropped off medical supplies before filling up with 30,800 kgs of western rock lobster and seafood bound for Xiamen. The Xiamen Airlines logo features a white egret on a blue sky signifying that happiness and good luck will always accompany their passengers ... although we suspect last night’s special passengers may soon find themselves in hot water!

15.01.2022 There’ll be some amazing bargains at the Black Friday sales at the DFO Perth. But that means we may have a little more traffic in the area. So if you are heading to Terminal 3, Terminal 4, Costco or DFO today or over the weekend, please allow a little extra time and follow the instructions of our helpful traffic management team.

13.01.2022 Yangon a minutelook who’s just dropped in! We think this is the first visit of Myanmar Airways International to Perth Airportbut we’re sure someone will prove us wrong! (We’re looking at you Geoffrey Thomas) For anyone wondering, the colourful logo on this MAI Airbus A319 shows pyinsarupa - a traditional Burmese chimeric animal with bits of lion, elephant, water buffalo, horse, white carp and hamsa (a water bird).... Having flown in via Denpasar, they’ll soon be heading back home to their base in Yangon International Airport in Myanmar.

11.01.2022 A little bit of shifting, a little bit of lifting and just like that three 40 tonne steel modules are craned into place to form the first of three aerobridges at the International Terminal. We’re inclined to think the new ramps will provide a better journey experience for our international passengers.

11.01.2022 After more than 240 days since our state borders closed, it's great to see passengers starting to flow through our terminals once more. From all of us at Perth Airport, welcome back.

09.01.2022 Now this is the way to really stretch a friendship! This Silk Way West 747-8 Freighter has dropped in from Azerbaijan with some kit for the resources sector. The wingspan of the 747-8F stretches four metres wider than the 747-400 (the type Qantas recently retired) and is almost six metres longer. Lucky for them there's plenty of room on our international apron at the moment! We thought they may be here for a decent stretch but after a quick stop, they're heading off to Hong Kong and beyond.

07.01.2022 While the celebrations across the world are different this year, the sentiment remains the same. Wishing a happy and prosperous Diwali to families celebrating today. #Diwali2020

06.01.2022 That look when you get told you'll be sitting next to a very annoying Matt De Boer all the way to Brisbane! Hopefully he'll shake the tag in Brisbane before flying on to the Dockers hub in Cairns. Good luck to the Dockers and Giants as they depart Perth together for the remainder of AFL Season 2020.

04.01.2022 Five Years ago, the new Terminal 1 Domestic was born and a new home for Virgin. While we're not seeing much activity through the terminal at the moment, we're still celebrating this fantastic milestone. Happy 5th Birthday T1D!

04.01.2022 The run to Daddy's arms We're not crying, you're crying. We love these moments. Share your favourite #flyinday snaps in the comments and celebrate Dads at home and working away this Father's Day. @danipatching (IG)... #happyfathersday

04.01.2022 No turning back now for Nic Nat and the boys. Heading out today for the Queensland hub to seal a top four finishnot to mention a home Grand Final appearance! The West Australian

04.01.2022 Thought we’d just run this one up the flag polegiven that today is Australian National Flag Day. And of course the one day we wanted a shot of our national flag fluttering majestically in the breeze in front of our terminals and there’s not a puff of wind! So Jason and Jim from our amazing Airside Operations team to the rescuewith our friends at Alliance Airlines providing the perfect backdrop.... Perth Airport is proud to fly the Australian flag every day alongside the Western Australian flag and the Aboriginal flag.

03.01.2022 So peacocks are not known for their flying prowessbut there’s a colourful tale to the colourful tail of this SriLankan Airlines A330. The stylised peacock logo represents the Dandu Monara a mythical aircraft from Sri Lankan folklore which looked like a peacock and was flown by King Ravana. Fascinating country, fascinating culture. This repatriation flight is the first time SriLankan Airlines has visited Perth Airport since CHOGM back in 2011.... Having flown in from Colombo, we wish them well for a safe flight back to Hambantota.

03.01.2022 This year we are celebrating 10 years of the Perth Airport Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship. The 2020 recipient is Juanita Spedding who is studying a Bachelor of Laws at Edith Cowan University (ECU). Congratulations, Juanita! Since the program began in 2010, the Scholarship program has supported 23 students across a range of disciplines.

02.01.2022 Perth Airport and Foodbank WA we make a great pear! And kids at 75 metro schools go bananas when they see the Perth Airport School Fruit Van roll up. Covid has hit everyone hard. So we’re proud to continue our long-standing support of Foodbank WA who make a huge difference for our community in these tough times.... As for 2021? She’ll be apples! (Too much corn for a post about fruit? )
