25.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 11 student Annabelle, whose work ‘Remorse’ recently won a Blink Photography Award. Annabelle was awarded the Best Photograph by a Young Entrant (less than 18 years). Her photograph reflects upon the catastrophic nation-wide bush fires, which resulted in an unprecedented loss of flora and fauna. 'Remorse' was also selected for the META exhibition at Gallery Central earlier this year. Congratulations Annabelle! #perthcollegecommunity
24.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 12 student Ella, whose work was recently selected for Pulse Perspectives 2021 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Ella's coat, as part of her multi-media piece 'Memoria Innocentes’ will be on display in the annual exhibition which showcases the work of WA's talented Year 12 artists. Ella's artwork explores her family’s experiences through war and tells a story of how memories can be a burden. #perthcollegecommunity

Students dressed in traditional outfits for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to the Telethon Kids Institute and The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre. Students were tasked with designing and creating a modern costume for three main characters and presenting an explanation of their choices to our Costume House Co-ordinator, Krystal Meek. 11.01.2022 Congratulations to the Perth College Marine Engineers Club for taking part in the finals of this years UWA Girls in Engineering and Oceanworks Emerging Engineers Competition! The Years 5, 6 and 8 students were tasked with developing a solution to biofouling, which is defined as the unwanted growth of marine organisms on man-made structures in the ocean. The two teams pitched their solutions to a panel of judges via Zoom this week with the Brainy Barnacles team winning first place, and Bio Bosses picking up an Honourable Mention! Well done girls!

09.01.2022 Monday is the last day to bring in your donations for Operation Sunshine to help families less fortunate this Christmas. The Junior School is collecting items to make Sunshine Packs for children entering out-of-home care. Everything from toothbrushes to pyjamas, books, pens and soft toys are welcomed, however, items should be brand new and cost less than $20 each. Girls learning string instruments were taught by Shaun Lee-Chen, while brass and woodwind students worked with Dr Paul de Cinque and piano students had a class with former PC staff member, Valerie Lang. Yesterday some of our Junior School students collaborated on a beautiful sand mural with Lisa and Katelyn from Future Footprints. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to 2014 Leaver Alicia Rheeston-Stewart who was recently awarded a Masters in chemical engineering with First Class Honours! Alicia moved to the UK in 2015 to begin her degree at the University of Surrey. She completed her Bachelors with Honours, before undertaking a 13-month placement at ExxonMobil. In March, the COVID-19 situation caused the university to close and Alicia came home to finish the remainder of her Masters online from Perth, which she finished with First Class Honours!
