24.01.2022 New mural in Urban Orchard painted by George Howlett who has exhibited extensively in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. The vibrant colours relate to the lights installed on the side of the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia and provide an engaging and optimistic distraction at this tenuous time.

19.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce that Barking Gecko Theatre, in collaboration with ThinkArts in India, has created a new digital initiative called Isolate > Create >... Connect for children all across the world! Through a weekly video delivered by teaching artists from BGT and ThinkArts online, children aged 5 to 17 will be set a creative task inviting them to create a small artwork capturing their perspective on the world right now. Each week children will be asked to upload their creation digitally to the Barking Gecko website. At the end of the 10 week-long project we will have created a digital scrapbook that documents this unprecedented time in history through the eyes of children. At a time where children dont have access to the connection we crave, this project is designed to keep children connected to their creativity and encourage them to find expression through whatever tools they have at their disposal in their homes. Although we have had to press pause on our day-to-day life for now, creativity is always at our fingertips! This initiative is free for all participants - sign up today to be a part of the journey! https://bit.ly/3eFG4Ol
