So the weather forecast is looking epic for our 4-Day Mid-West Beach Fishing Safari this Wednesday 16th and we still have 2 seats available. He was a good bloke and wasn’t even a fisho Anyhow, I’ve since purchased 4 of these for our kits. Waterproof, totally wind proof, no gas, charge via USB. More specs in comments. You can find them on eBay for around $20.

24.01.2022 North-West LBG Safari 16-20 Aug 2020 Big thanks to Troy and Alex for putting on a great show for our awesome clients this week up north. Fish dont come easy off the stones, but our crew of 8 put in the hard yards and scored some cracking fish over the 5 days. Seven macks (plus two halves ) between 10kg and 24kg were landed. About as many were eaten by sharks and the odd one dropped/missed. We were using a mix of ballooning and droning techniques on this trip, as well as ...a few sessions casting baits off the beach. No mullys this time unfortunately. If you want to get amongst the action this year we have 1 last trip departing this Monday 24th, returning Friday 28th and theres still 2 seats left... so jump on it! If you cant make it this year Id recommend getting in touch ASAP to secure a spot for 2021. 23.01.2022 The mid-west is best You've probably seen a few pics of mulloway etc coming through over the last few days. Alex and I have just got back from taking 2 groups of anglers up north on our 4-Day Mid-West Beach Fishing Safari. We camped at the beach and traveled far and wide to put our crews onto the fish. With some challenging conditions thrown in to keep us on our toes we managed to find both groups 3 mulloway each plus an assortment of other goodies including cobia, bonefish..., snapper, guitarfish, shovelnose, tarwhine, tailor, sharks (none actually landed) and a stray whiting on 8/0 snells The best mulloway of the trip was Dave's 21kg fish followed closely by Pam's 20kg model. Dave also scored a 12.5kg fish on the first night, Oscar nailed an 11kg and Taraz landed two smaller fish at 5kg (ish) each. Dave's pinky was released and estimated around 6.5kg. Aside from the fishing we really did have a blast hanging with our awesome clients; cooking, eating, sipping a few beers talking fishing and having a laugh. This was supposed to be the last trip of the season, but we'd like to do another trip on Dec 1-4. 23.01.2022 Giddyup baby! What a sick evening on the beach yesterday. While Alex and Troy were driving their groups home from the NW, I took a group of 4 fishos on a 4WD Beach Fishing Safari. The fishing was good and we saw some cool stuff including these young steers, whales, roos, emu and buffies feeding on the reef edge and cruising in the surf. The fishing was stock standard for this time of year, with Craig (from the NT) scoring himself a nice school mulloway around 85cm and releasi...ng it to fight another day. A few more were missed/dropped. Dylan landed a skinny male gummy shark and a handful of assorted bottom feeders, which he too chose to release. Chris landed his first ever tailor. The lads collectively landed half a dozen tailor to 50cm so we kept 4 for Chris for a feed. In my eyes the catch of the night was Nathans beast of a banjo. This thing was probably the biggest Ive seen, so we decided to get all of the correct weight measurements to submit it for Nathan as a new IGFA World Record. It was a fair beast at 12.85kg and much larger than the current record! With the seasons now changing this is the time to be jumping on this particular tour. 17.01.2022 Mid-West is best Alex and his crew are on the way home from their 4-Day Mid-West Beach Fishing Safari. The lads were faced with extremely weedy conditions which made for hard and frustrating fishing. On the last night the weed let up a bit and they were able to fish relatively nice conditions - and the fish were on! Heres a few pics of their epic adventure and the fish that were caught. I thought it was quite random that they caught a northern variety of catfish... but it... turned out to be not so random as they landed about a dozen of the things! 16.01.2022 5-Day NW LBG Fishing Safari - AUG 24-28 Ben, Will, Craig and Alex produced some good fish last week, landing a decent haul of 30-odd fish including 3 macks, tuna, barracuda, 18 mulloway, threadfin, snapper, spangled emperor, rankin cod plus other assorted bits and pieces. Craig from WellStrategic joined us to shoot footage for our new promo vid. The boys put on a show and I cant wait to see the final edit! As usual many good fish were lost, but thats the nature of the beas...t. We scoped out a few new spots that produced in a big way and we all cant wait to get up there again with clients in Dec to try for those big reefies and the elusive 20kg mulla, as well as our main target cobia. Again Alex putting them on the money in rough and weedy conditions. CONFESSION: the gummy we caught and kept on Friday night was full of pups. We released them but its arguable whether they were ready. Its this time of year the gummys move close to shore to live bear their babies. 01.01.2022 A beaut little gummy for this young rooster on Sunday morning. Might have to head down and catch one for myself Note the two claspers near the anal fin.... Here's a bit of info for those interested: "Similar to a penis, claspers are an external appendage found on male sharks, skates, and rays that are designed to deliver sperm inside of a female. However, they are dissimilar to a penis in that they are not an independent appendage, but rather a deeply grooved cartilaginous extension of the sharks pelvic fins." The gummys we tend to catch from shore in the Perth region are relatively small compared to cooler parts of the country. We are close to the northern end of their range here in Perth. The fish we catch up here range from newborns to 10-12kg. There could be the odd bigger fish around but we're yet to land one. Down in VIC and SA they get them up to 30-odd kilos!
