20.01.2022 Perth Highland piper, David Stulpner, has won the Balmoral Classic worldwide online piping competition! This international win is another feather in David's cap, and has put Western Australia on the map for piping and drumming once more. David's prize winnings included a new set of Duncan MacRae SL4 bagpipes, donated by McCallum Bagpipes. The judges were Rob Wallace (Scotland), Jim McGillivray (Canada) and Scot Walker (USA). 05.01.2022 VALE JOHN HUNTER Perth Highland Pipe Band members are saddened by the news that past President, John Hunter, passed away this week. Our thoughts are with Andrew, Bev, Leona and all his family.... John brought his young son Andrew along to band practices for tenor drumming lessons, and quickly became band Secretary and then President for almost two decades. John became a Life Member for his services to the band in the year 2000. John and his remarkable wife, Leona, loved coming along to every band event, including trips to rural areas and interstate. A wonderfully kind natured gentleman, he brought joy to all of us. Rest in peace.
