Congratulations to Flynn who has been standout with his performance two weeks in a row. Coach Alex presenting him with his certificate for overall performance and improved tackling. Post game, we have a presentation to acknowledge surpassing 50 caps in the Perth Irish Jersey. The four players receiving this are Denis Leane, Brian Bolger, Janick Ruckti, Brendan O’Mahony who have all played with the club since it became established in 2016. Table Quiz will follow, starting at 6:30PM - EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN $20 PP Tables of 6, we will match numbers when you arrive. Raffle - We will be selling tickets throughout the day. 10.01.2022 Greetings from Mountbellew, Co Galway Our area's links to Perth go back to April 28 1853 when a ship, the Palestine, arrived in Fremantle carrying 30 girls fro...m Mountbellew Workhouse We call them the 'orphan girls' as they had survived An Gorta Mor but likely had been separated from parents either through death or emigration. Now a new life awaited them in an extremely different environment on the other side of the world. Their descendants today number in the thousands and we are reaching out to all of them to invite them to make the journey back Through DNA and research we already have found connections back home in east Galway with family members Now we plan to bring the girls home as well !! In collaboration with the Western Australian Irish Famine Commemoration Committee, we are installing a replica of the sculpture 'Uaigneas' which is the Memorial to the girls in Subiaco, dedicated by President Higgins in 2017.
