22.01.2022 In case anyone wasnt aware the 2017 Rocks & Ruts Rumble in the Valley was run and won on the weekend. This event was never meant to be an easy comp, it was never meant to be a comp the average 4wd could enter. This comp was intended to showcase exactly what WA had to offer and the level of vehicles and talent currently in WA and we think we managed to achieve that and have a lot of fun in the process. We couldnt have asked for a better venue, the terrain on the Lazy G propert...y is insane and we have only just scratched the surface. So to the property owner, without their generosity by letting us take over their backyard for the weekend these events wouldnt happen. So to Gary, from everyone in the WA 4wd community, a massive thank you. To all of our extremely generous sponsors who put up over $12000 worth of prizes these comps wouldnt be possible without your support. Driven 4x4, Midland 4WD Centre, On Track Fabrication, Carbon Winch, Manta Performance, Moonlight Fabrication, Lazer Lighting, Kut Snake, Scene Signs, Boab Water Storage, Oricom UHF, Halogen Electrical and Crusso's Hair Design, thankyou, we are forever grateful and we look forward to working together with all of you in the future. To the Marshals, Western Patrol Club, volunteers, gate staff, 4x4 Images, Tyre Tracks Photography, and to all our family and friends that helped out on the day and in the lead and aftermath of the comp a huge thank you. Knowing we can rely on such great bunch of people makes our jobs so much easier, so thank you. Now for the results. Crusso's Hair Design marshals award: Mike Jolley wins a $200 Crusso's Hair Voucher. Oricom UHF marshals award: Dermot Walsh wins an Oricom UHF pack. Best Newcomer - Touring Class: Shenae Elliott Spud Racing wins an OTF Voucher Best Newcomer - Open Class: Shivakumar Muniappan Team Goat Attack Kut Snake voucher. So from Perth Offroad Promotions, thank you everyone who had a hand in making this one of the most successful and enjoyable comps WA has had.

20.01.2022 This video didnt make it into the next release but is still an awesome clip and goes to show the never say die attitude our competitors have, even when they are surrounded in smoke Credit for the video of Shellian Racing goes to one of our dedicated spectators Ken George, cheers.

20.01.2022 Helen and Chris from Driven 4x4 are two of the most dedicated people in the WA 4wd industry and have been supporting Perth Offroad Promotions for the last few years now. Both Helen and Chris help out immensely behind the scenes, both in the lead up and at the event itself and without their help these comps would be a lot more work then they already are. Not only are they huge supporters of the comp scene the family owned and run business also go above and beyond to help out the average 4wder, from the soccer mums and grey nomads to the weekend warrior's there is no one they wont be able to help out. So if you are after the latest quality part for your 4wd and some genuine, good old fashioned service then give Driven 4x4 a call, they are one of the best in the business. https://www.facebook.com/driven4x4/?fref=ts

19.01.2022 Steve from Scene Signs in Bellevue has been around the WA comp scene in one way or another for years now. These days Steve may have taken a step back from helping run comps but Scene Signs is still one of WA 4wding's biggest supporters. From making up door stickers to making banners, trophies and signs Scene Signs has been doing it all for Perth Offroad Promotions since 2014. They are also well known for their awesome vehicle wraps, not only on commercial vehicles but on some of WA's best comp trucks. So if youre after any sort of signage or promotional products for your business, club or even your own personal requirements be sure to check out Scene Signs https://www.facebook.com/scenesigns/?fref=ts

13.01.2022 More spectator info: - The option for camping tickets at the property closed on Sunday night, there is no longer an option for people to camp on site if you havent already purchased a ticket or are on someones pit crew. - Day passes are available for purchase at the gate on the day for $20 per person 10 yrs or older per day, anyone under 10 is free all weekend. - This is an alcohol free event, vehicles will be getting checked at the gate and you will need to hand over any alc...ohol found if you wish to enter the property. - We will also have a very limited number of Rumble in the Valley beanies for sale at the front gate as you enter for $10 each, so join the cool kids and get yours on to keep your scone from freezing over. - Fire bins are permitted for campers, but they must be fully self-contained and extinguished over night. There must be no open fires on the ground. Bring your own firewood and take away your bin at the end of your stay. - Bins will be provided but for the campers please bring bin bags with you to bag your rubbish up before placing it in the bins as it will make disposal a lot easier. - Again please be aware of competition vehicles travelling through the spectator area in the valley. The quicker the cars can get from track to track the more smoothly the day will run. Hope to see you all there!! Cheers, Perth Offroad Promotions

12.01.2022 Its a hard job being a navi, hats off to you all for a great weekend

09.01.2022 SPECTATOR INFO - Directions: Heading south on South West Hwy turn right onto Newlands rd. At the end turn right onto Ryall Rd. A short way down on your left there is road signposted as Boronia Rd, there is a wooden sign at the intersection with the name 'The Lazy G' on it. Turn left and go down that road through the gateway and up to the entrance into the spectator area. - Access to the remote spectator area is by 4wd only. You must engage 4wd and be in low range once you le...ave the entrance gate. Please note this area may need to be closed on the day due to poor weather. Access to the spectator camping and spectator parking near the entrance is 2wd friendly. - There is a 5kph speed limit at all times whilst on the property. - The competition vehicles will be required to travel through the spectator area at various spots to get from stage to stage. 07.01.2022 For those that arent aware Perth Offroad Promotions wishes to regretably inform everyone that we currently have no plans to run any events next year, which means neither the Rocks & Ruts Series or the Driven to Drive Challenge will run. Due to our ever increasing work and family commitments meaning we have less and less time to devote to the increasing demands of the comps, so the decision has been made to take a break for now. We have had an absolute blast running these comp...s and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us out, especially all the volunteers and the new friends we have made along the way. A massive thank you also goes out to all the awesome sponsors who got behind us and supported us right from the very first comp back in 2013, we couldnt have done it without you So it's goodbye from us for now, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for the comp scene in WA. See more

03.01.2022 Alright race fans, if you only buy one newspaper this week make sure its a copy of tomorrow's West Australian and check out the write-up Ray Cully has done on the comp, you wont be disappointed

02.01.2022 For those of you asking about the final results, we should have something available for you tonight. Firstly though a massive thank you goes out to everyone who braved the average weather and came down to camp as either pit crew or spectators and those who just came down for the day. Part of our lease with the property owner is that their property doesnt get destroyed in the process and that there isnt a huge clean up bill at the end of it all and we are extremely happy to re...port that as far as we are aware there were no major incidences of anti-social behaviour and considering having close to 2000 people in total come through the gate over the weekend there was barely any litter left behind, even when bins were over flowing what rubbish there was, was left bagged up and placed neatly next to the bins. Unfortunately due to the rain on Saturday morning and having to rescue a lot of unprepared cars on the roadway to the remote spectator parking, the decision was made to close the roadway in the interests of track care. This meant a long, hilly walk for some people, but we hope you at least got to enjoy the action once you made it into the valley. So from Perth Offroad Promotions we say thank you, the effort everyone put in over the weekend to ensure a family friendly, hassle free, enjoyable weekend goes a long way to securing venues like the Lazy G for future events. Cheers, Perth Offroad Promotions Pic courtesy of Jamie Howell https://viewer.hangar.com/R0bOyoYO
