25.01.2022 Walkies with these 4. Young winston is a tiny cavoodle unlike my boy Ted-E... so he needs practice getting confidence with bigger dogs. Cody the Labrador and Kobi the staffy were the perfect place to start as they are both friendly and a little older. Look at you go Winston! 24.01.2022 No dogs coming to visit till meetings at 9 & 10... so young Ted-E grabbed his goat horn (from under the couch because he no longer digs holes) and wanted to play. Prior to this I was outside and little bugger kept putting his paw to the glass... normally he would be telling me he wanted to go outside but instead he wanted me to come inside and play.

22.01.2022 It's taken me a few days to write this post... because it was very hard sending him back to Mum Cara stuck in Sydney. I've honestly cried a couple of times since I put him on the plane and even a little teary as I type this. I've been looking after Simba at LEAST 3 days a week since January and more recently the last 5 weeks. The hardest part of my job is trying my best not to fall in with these magnificent creatures... I became very close to Simba and he became part of ...our family (Tess & Ted-E). It's safe to say that nearly all of my pet sitting clients have met him too... during the meeting process to make sure not only did their dog get along with Ted-E but also Simba. We have gone through everything together - vet appointments - lots of medications - making his meals (blended rice, tuna & veg) - cavoodle playdates (cavoodle owners WA) - incontinence (sometimes he needs nappies - bath time - walkies all over Perth & much much more! His mum has been very generous over these months entrusting me with her baby and as a result we have become close friends too. I'm actually in the process of clearing out her East Perth apartment for transport to Sydney and cleaning for final inspection. If you ever need someone who will go above and beyond for your fur baby's needs please contact me anytime. Lots of love to "little man" Simba and Cara who are safe and sound together. 21.01.2022 Kali on his last walk with me before heading to Queensland... second photo is one of our very first walks. Kali is my most improved client by a mile. We have been walking together every day for 9 months with the exception of Covid and a few relentless stormy days. He learnt to lie down when the little dogs were deciding whether or not to say hello and was very calm when they did the opposite. Ted-E would often tell off those dogs and come to his rescue by barking at them... ...which is pretty cute and ridiculous given their size difference. His fitness improved dramatically to begin with he would lie down every few meters and now he can walk for an hour. Kali's favourite part of our walks was the car... excitedly jumping into the boot to greet the other dogs and going home where he got some cuddles and a belly rub. I could see the gratitude & in his eyes. His grandparents said that he would wait at the gate all day for me until I arrived. I'm going to miss him very much... It was Kismet that we came together... his mum and I both went to Perth College roughly 5 years apart, my childhood Cavalier was called Ziggy, we both own cavoodles and she literally lived in the house next door to mine a few years before I bought in Yokine... oh and by pure coincidence our mums are friends.. but I was referred by a mutual friend!! 07.01.2022 The sample size is reasonably good at 40,000 and covers 32 breeds at various ages of sterilization and its effect on cancer and bone related issues like hip dysplasia. It doesn't breakdown how much data they have on each breed or age bracket but I still think it's worth a read if you are about to sterilize your pet. From my experience behaviour definitely improves after the operation especially in males.

07.01.2022 WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) has recorded further cases of the exotic disease ehrlichi...osis in dogs throughout northern WA. The disease, which was first recorded in the East Kimberley in May, is tick-borne and can be fatal if left untreated. DPIRD chief veterinary officer Michelle Rodan said surveillance had also found four cases in South Hedland as well as one case as far south as Carnarvon. Surveillance is now being targeted to the Pilbara and Gascoyne to determine the distribution of the disease in these areas, she said. Signs of the disease include fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, weight loss and bleeding disorders. Infected dogs do not directly transmit ehrlichiosis to people, however in rare cases, infected ticks may transmit E. canis to people. Visitors to the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne should be aware of the risk to their dogs from ehrlichiosis and should visit their vet for advice on a suitable tick treatment before travelling to the region, Dr Rodan said. Owners in affected areas are encouraged to treat their dogs for ticks regularly, as well as their bedding and the yard and to check their dogs for ticks daily, especially around the neck, head, ears, armpits, belly and in between toes."
