25.01.2022 What do you think of our festive logo?

22.01.2022 By now, you've probably heard, seen, read, or talked about a live streamed suicide which ended up on multiple social media platforms. As parents, teachers, and psychologists, how do we talk to our kids about this? Our part-time practitioner, part time school psychologist, and full-time mum, Caitlin Sopp, has written a short blog about parenting in the time of TikTok and viral videos. https://perthpsychologycollective.com.au/parenting-in-the-/ .... . . . . #socialmedia #tiktok #viralvideos #parentinginthedigitalage #courageousmothers #ambitiousmothers #livelifetothefullest #owningit #noapologies #beyourself #bestmotheringself #litupinside #claimit #theconsciousmother #workingmom #workingmum #workingmumguilt #career #noapologies #igivemyselfpermission #businesswoman #careerwoman #theconsciousmother #workingmothers #workingmoms #workingmums See more

21.01.2022 Meet Caitlin! Caitlin joined our team a few months ago and we have loved having her as part of our family. She loves the perinatal field and working with mums, mums to be, or those planning a pregnancy. She also knows how to speak 'teen'. There really isn't much she can't help with, (especially when you bribe her with a can of coke zero). Check out more on her online profile: https://perthpsychologycollective.com.au/team/caitlin-sopp/

21.01.2022 The Perth Psychology Collective team will still be here to continue sessions. Due to restrictions and in order to make sure we are keeping our staff and clients as safe as possible; all appointments will be conducted via telehealth.

19.01.2022 The end of August marks the end of Tradies National Health month, but it doesn't mean the end of our love and support. To all our tradie friends, partners, family members, we appreciate you!

19.01.2022 The 8th-14th of November is Perinatal Mental Health Week. As if being a the trials and tribulations of pregnancy and parenthood aren't enough, this year we've had to do it all with an international pandemic. You are an especially brave bunch! #perinatalmentalhealth #mentalhealth #birthingthroughcovid #perinatalwellness #postnataldepression #perinatalanxiety #perinatalocd #birthtrauma #perinatalloss #miscarriage #stillbirth #neonataldeath #askforhelp #psychologistsrock #letmehelpyou #mindfulness #selfawareness #wellbeingformums#perthmums #journeyofmotherhood #wellbeingformums #perthmums #happymums #mentalhealth #selfcare #consciousparenting

17.01.2022 The 7th - 11th of September is Women's Health Week. To our team mates, our colleagues, and our clients, we are so thankful to work with you amazing, strong, and fearless women!

14.01.2022 September is Liptember! The idea is to raise awareness for women's mental health by wearing your loveliest lippy through the month of September. Our team will be wearing our lipstick in support of this from the 21st - 26th September. We will also be bringing in some delicious treats available for a gold coin donation to all of our clients (and staff of course). Money raised during the Liptember is donated towards the Centre for Women’s Mental Health, Lifeline, Batyr, The Jean... Hailes Foundation, The Pretty Foundation and The Magpie Nest Women's Program. So get your lippy ready and join the cause!

12.01.2022 We've had so much fun baking away and feasting on cake this week, and for what a great cause - Liptember Tomorrow is our last day of fundraising and there will still be some tasty treats for you to enjoy. We can't wait to do it all again next year, even bigger and better!

11.01.2022 How beautiful is this bunch?! We've been spoiling ourselves and signed up for a weekly flower delivery! If you have visited our waiting room and wonder where these bunches are appearing from, they are created by our beautiful local florist Hey There Poppy

11.01.2022 Why the high-vis? August in Australia is Tradies National Health Month (TNHM), which focuses on the mental and physical health of tradies (who account for 30% of Australia's workforce!) At Perth Psychology Collective we aim to assist all individuals across Australia... and tradies often don't seek out services as regularly as other union groups. If you know any tradies why not ask them how they are going this month. Cook them a meal as a surprise. You never know how a little act of kindness can positively effect someone.

10.01.2022 It's that time again. Yoga for Mental Health is on! We are setting up for our first round of classes in our beautiful new studio. Email our admin at [email protected] if you would like to know more

10.01.2022 We're back! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. We've had a few days to put our feet up and we're back, bring on 2021! We've got a few exciting things in the pipeline, including a new location! Stay tuned to see some sneak peaks as our new home comes togather.

10.01.2022 So what happens if you ask a friend "are you ok?", and they say "no". How do you provide support? Listen with patience: don't judge, make them feel heard. Don't try and "problem solve". The more you listen, the more you'll understand. Empower them: many people feel like a burden when sharing what's going on in their head, remind them that they are not! Remind them of what a wonderful person they are.... You don't always have to talk: don't try and pry. Sometimes, just being next to your friend can show them they have your support, without the pressure to talk. Help in other ways: cook them dinner and wash the dishes, walk their dog, do an every day task that can ease any stress or pressure they are feeling. Encourage professional care: discuss a visit to the GP or a Mental Health professional. Help them take charge of their mental health and create a support network.

06.01.2022 For everyone, trauma or not, adult or child, masks may increase our anxiety. They are a very visible sign that things are not normal and that COVID poses a very real threat. Our practitioner, Kate Maassen, has written a short post about how wearing a mask can feel for some, what to do if it's causing you stress, and how to react to 'that lady' in the supermarket. Check out the full article here: https://perthpsychologycollective.com.au/trauma-and-face-m/

04.01.2022 Throughout the month of October, members of the Perth Psychology Team have walked over 350km in solidarity for people in Australia living with mental illness. We have exceeded our goal of $2000, so thankyou too all that participated and donated. We are so happy to be doing our bit to help this wonderful cause - and getting some exercise in the process!

04.01.2022 It's time to check in with yourself. Are you feeling great and feeling full of energy for life? Amazing, keep going! Or are you just 'okay', but maybe a little burnt out? Check in and think about what may be making us you feel this way. Allow yourself to 'recharge' that wonderful battery that is you. Maybe that means ordering take-out tonight, maybe means a good book, or maybe it means cashing in some leave and taking a long-weekend. Whatever it is, take some time for you!

04.01.2022 We have teamed up with our friends at The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre to offer our Yoga for Mental Health to a whole new group of lovely individuals. This centre offers so many interesting events and we are feeling excited to be one of them!

03.01.2022 Wow, what a big week. Our little practice keeps growing and growing! We can't wait to introduce you to our new team members. But for now, we are all going home for a big rest and recovery weekend, ready to start again on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend!

03.01.2022 I don't know if you've noticed, but we've been trying to up our waiting room game recently. The most recent introduction is our diffuser. Pleasant, familiar orders have been associated with reducing stress. So we are hoping that our little friend hear helps you feel as relaxed as possible when you're visiting us.

02.01.2022 "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them" - Laurence Binyon For all those who served for us once, for those that serve for us now, we are honoured to hold you in our thoughts today.
