20.01.2022 "THE Perth Redbacks only narrowly missed taking part in the West Coast Classic finals but really what CJ Jackson wanted to get out of the competition was to build for 2021 and he couldn’t be happier with the way that panned out. Jackson returned to the Redbacks in 2020 to take over the helm as Men’s head coach and while the SBL season didn’t eventuate thanks to COVID-19, the West Coast Classic took place instead and turned out to be a great success. The season ran over nine w...eeks in the end before a finals weekend and ultimately the Redbacks were desperately unlucky not to be part of that finals weekend, but for Jackson it was all about more than just wins and losses right now in the West Coast Classic. It came down to just one basket that denied the Redbacks an opportunity of playing finals, but the benefits out of the whole West Coast Classic were far greater than that with an eye being ready to go for either the SBL/NBL1 West season in 2021." 19.01.2022 After playing all his junior basketball for the Warwick Senators and feeling he’d run into a brick wall developmentally, 2020 brought a change of colours and a welcome change of scenery for athletic wing Michael Riley: With CJ as the head coach and with everything the club is doing, I really enjoyed the development side of things in 2020. It was good to feel like I was learning again and the environment at Redbacks rea...Continue reading

16.01.2022 100 GAME MILESTONES Sadly for our club record keepers, Sports TG data only goes back to 2015. That made it hard to pick up on which of our older players in the club hit significant milestones this season. We do feel it safe to announce the following milestones in the absence of those officials records from before 2015, however.... Congratulations to: Lachlan Bertram Mitch Nixon Stephen Phipps who all achieved the 100 WABL games in Redbacks colours milestone at some stage this season :)

16.01.2022 U11 and U13 Boys STATE CHAMPS TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS Congrats to those players selected in our U11 and U13 Boys 2020 State Champs teams. Competition for positions was intense: 53 players nominated for selection in U11 and we only had 39 spots to offer.... 87 players nominated for selection in U13 and we only had 49 spots to offer. If your child did not gain selection in a Perth Redbacks team for State Champs, this is not the end of their WABL journey. We will be conducting WABL development sessions in January (keep an eye out for details). And we would love them to come back and trial again when we conduct our official WABL trials in the final week of January 2021. Team announcements for U15/U17/U19 boys will be made on Friday 13 November ahead of training starting on Sunday 15 November. Team announcements for all our girls’ teams will be made on Monday 16 November.

16.01.2022 How did all our WABL teams go on the weekend? What did their coaches have to say about the games? It's all here in our weekly WABL Wrap :)

16.01.2022 Captains locked in for 2021

16.01.2022 REMINDER: PERTH REDBACKS AGM - TOMORROW EVENING The Perth Basketball Association Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 2 December, (7pm for a 7.30pm start) at The Victoria Park Hotel. The agenda will be as follows:... 1. Welcome and introduction 2. Ratification of Minutes 3. President’s Report 4. Election of Office Bearers 5. General Business Our general business section this year will cover three significant topics: 1. An update on NBL1 West and what that will mean for PBA 2. A progress update on all developing facilities options 3. An open discussion around volunteering options on committees for 2021 and beyond. PBA invites all members and interested parties to view our 2020 year in review video below and if you want to be part of what we're building, come to the AGM and listen as we: 1. Give an update on our club’s committees, structures, workload and needs (in terms of volunteers) 2. Take expressions of interest from members who are interested in serving on those committees 3. Provide an opportunity for informal chats with the Board members who oversee these committees (once the AGM is over) 2021 looks like being the biggest ever in the history of our club. As a largely volunteer-run organisation, we welcome the chance to add new members to our various committees to lighten the load while also helping us elevate our operations in 2021.

14.01.2022 The Perth Basketball Association invites all members and interested parties to attend our 2020 AGM on Wednesday 2 December. 2021 looks like being the biggest ever in the history of our club. As a largely volunteer-run organisation, we welcome the chance to add new members to our various committees to lighten the load while also helping us elevate our operations in 2021. For this reason, we would particularly like to welcome all of those who served on committees this year, or ...who have previously expressed an interest in doing so. We will use the AGM to: Give an update on our club’s committees, structures, workload and needs (in terms of volunteers) Take expressions of interest from members who are interested in serving on those committees Provide an opportunity for informal chats with the Board members who oversee these committees (once the AGM is over)

07.01.2022 1. GENERAL BYE FOR ALL GIRLS FIXTURES ON SATURDAY 5 DECEMBER With a large number of our girls' domestic players playing State Champs on Saturday 5 December, this is envisaged to impact significantly on numbers for the girls' Domestic Competition on that day. Given this, all girls games from U/12 through to U/18 shall have a bye for that weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will make every endeavour to review fixtures and if possible, reschedule games for lat...er in the season. For those playing in the State Championships, the Redbacks family wish you all the success and enjoyment in your games. 2. SAFE WA APP - PLEASE DOWNLOAD The WA Government has mandated compulsory contact tracing as of Saturday 5 December. It is our expectation that all our Domestic venues will require registration on entry to the venue via the Safe WA app so please help us get in front of this by downloading the app to your phone today. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

04.01.2022 With WA’s State Basketball League (SBL) joining the NBL1 family in 2021 as NBL1 West, we’ve had two main priorities as a club over the past two months. The first has been to re-sign the players on both the women’s and men’s side whose collective brand of competitive and entertaining basketball filled the stands at Belmont every week and saw us go undefeated at home during the 2020 West Coast Classic (WCC) season. The second has been to strengthen those existing rosters with a... few key pieces to help us elevate from our outstanding showing during the WCC. We’re excited to share that we’ve now almost completed our rosters for 2021 and over the coming weeks will be sharing those signings with you. Today, we’re delighted to announce that both our captains Jess Jakens and Joel Wagner will be back in 2021!
