25.01.2022 Premier League Hockey Returns with all teams playing on Friday nights at either Perth Ice Arena or Cockburn Ice Arena. Games At PIA will be 7.30pm and 9.15pm. Perth Sharks game tonight is 9.15pm at Perth Ice Arena , playing the Chiefs. The club Bar will be open and spectators are welcome. 24.01.2022 Concise update for members Ice Hockey WA is committed to the health and wellbeing of all its members, including athletes and their families, volunteers, spectat...ors and administrators. We are monitoring official announcements from the WA State Govt in relation to COVID-19 closely for recommendations to sporting clubs and associations, in addition to conferring with, and following directives from, Ice Hockey Australia. Currently, there have been no changes to the season schedule. To minimise the risk and for the safety of all members please follow the general guidelines: We advise that you do not shake hands before or at the end of games. Keep your gloves on and just tap each others gloves. Hand hygiene is critical. Clean your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based hand rub. Wash your hands frequently. Do not share water bottles. Do not share whistles (coaches and officials). No spitting on and off the ice. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow. Always practice cough etiquette (keep away from other people, cover coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues or clothing, and clean your hands). Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms. Do not attend or participate in training or games if you are unwell. If you have arrived in Perth from overseas since 9:00pm 15 March 2020, or fall within other Department of Health criteria, you must follow appropriate self-isolation guidelines. 18.01.2022 Dear Members Thank to those that have registered for the Super 20's League. We have received insufficient registrations to run the league at this time and anti...cipate that we will run it February /March leading into next years season. We are however ,pleased to confirm that the coaches will run a high intensity clinic that will include Skills, Small Area Games (3 on 3 ) and special team training ( PP and PK) and Battle Drills ( full Checking ) This will commence on Tuesday 20th of October 2020 at Perth Ice Arena 6.00pm - 7.00pm Cost $150 per player. For those that have registered already can you please confirm on email to me [email protected] if you are still interested. If there are any players that had not registered and wish to participate , if you are born between 1997 - 2005 and are playing full checking hockey within IHWA leagues and wish to join please email Gill McLean on [email protected] . As there is full body checking included this is only open to male players and goalies in this age group. Providing we get sufficient numbers we will establish on Esports for you to make payment. 15.01.2022 Following the recent announcement regarding the cancellation of the AJIHL season for 2020/2021 , in conjunction with our senior coaches , we are pleased to brin...g to you a super 20’s league instead with an expanded age group. The league will consist of four teams of 15 players over an 8 week period to be played on Friday nights at Perth Ice Arena. Two games each night commencing 23rd of October 2020, 7:30pm and 9:00pm 18th of December 2020. We have a break the weekend of the 6th of November 2020. Two teams will train together once a week on either Monday or Tuesday nights at Perth Ice Arena ( depending on which team you are drafted to ) at 6.00pm 7.00pm . There will be no training on the 2nd & 3rd of November 2020. Coaches will be drafting the players to ensure that the teams are even. This is a full checking league men’s league only with eligible players born 1997 2005 Inclusive. With this broad age group, safety in mind the coaches draft will ensure that the younger players are line matched as much as possible. The coaches for the four teams are : Ben Breault Dave Ruck Marc Vaillancourt Bryan Maybee Cost will be between $280 - $385 including Jersey , games and training. To allow us to finalize the ice bookings and order jerseys , can you please register your interest by no later than Sunday 4th of October 2020. There is no cost to register , however you must be an IHWA members as this is an IHWA league.
