23.01.2022 How fortunate are we!? Over the weekend we were able to connect with friends from our Moo Duk Kwan family all over the world. Started the weekend in style with sharing some drinks virtually with some great people. Which was followed with 5 virtual seminars throughout the weekend. These were hosted by Kwang Jang Nim H.C. Hwang (our grandmaster) and World Technical Advisory Committee members from each zone in the world. I loved every second of it, though sleep was not really ...in the cards this weekend as some of these seminars were held throughout the night. A special thanks for the whole team of people who made this possible, everything went extremely smooth. Let's hope we can catch up in person soon and re-celebrate this occasion :D This time the anniversary was super special as I could also share this with the students at our school! WOW, what a weekend!!! Soo Bahk!

22.01.2022 We are so fortunate to have such a strong group training with us. It is amazing to see how people are developing themselves and the bounds they create through training. We are all here to support each other and working to a stronger self It doesn't matter if you are young or old, man or woman, athletic or non-athletic. We can all bring something to the table and find ways to improve ourselves.

22.01.2022 Last weekend we had our Youth Leadership Weekend. It was so much fun to connect with the Perth Youth Leaders. We all contributed to an amazing weekend full of laughter and training. It is a pleasure to work with these amazing students and it always helps that we can enjoy Eve's cooking :D. Our team is very enthusiastic and is looking forward to share their ideas and plans with you all soon. I'm very excited about the events they are going to organise for you all.

20.01.2022 What a great class we had! Last Saturday we had our Parent-Child Class and it was fantastic. The parents were enjoying themselves training with their kids. It was amazing to see the smiles and how much the children enjoyed spending time with their parents during the training. Even some of our more advanced students brought their parents to share with them what they do. ... I loved every second of it and the parents could really see how we helping children to build confidence, concentration, and character whilst training Soo Bahk Do. We even helped the parents out a bit by making sure that the children are cleaning up at home as well. We're all here to support each other. Looking forward to the next one! Soo Bahk!

20.01.2022 For a lot of people sparring can be considered as agressive or scary. However the way we train sparring by putting emphasis on working together to make each other better, is such a fun way to improve your skill as martial artist. Working together to allow your partner to grow and develop is so much harder then just to fight each other. Join us and try it out for yourself!

20.01.2022 Last Tuesday we had our 2nd Meet the Master sessions. This is an opportunity for our Perth Soo Bahk Do Instructor group to meet a senior instructor master in another country and get to know them and understand what their view is on training. This time it was Ian McDuffie Sa Bom Nim, which I have met quite some years ago and is a very skilled instructor. It was very inspirational and motivational to spent time and get to know him. I think all the instructors had learned somet...hing and are eager to develop themselves even further. Thank you all for joining in and making McDuffie Sa Bom Nim feel very welcome. Looking forward to the next one! Soo Bahk!

20.01.2022 When you start something new, it is already daunting enough. Let alone when walking into a Martial Arts club and you hear all the screaming and shouting of the students and instructors. However, that never stops our little legends to keep coming back and training hard! Keep in mind that we are all here to support you to achieve your own goals and help you build your confidence! We believe in you!... Keep up the great work everyone!

19.01.2022 I love challenging our students and trying to push them beyond their expected abilities. It is even better when they achieve the challenge we set or go beyond them ;). Super proud of what each student achieves. ... Soo Bahk!

18.01.2022 I love playing this game with new students it has so many levels like discipline, concentration and a high level of courage and fun. It is so amazing to see these kids forgetting their environment and focussed on one thing. Looking forward to the next time we can use our creativity with helping our students in a different way understanding Soo Bahk Do. See you soon!

17.01.2022 So much fun seeing students trying out something new. Were aiming to improve one of my favourite techniques. See how we go ;)

16.01.2022 The instructors are working hard to improve their skills for you . We found that a good instructor is a balance of technical skillset and knowledge, at Perth Soo Bahk Do, we are helping each instructor on both levels. Let's develop our skills together. ... Soo Bahk!

16.01.2022 Last night we where able to celebrate the news that Eric Loh KSN passed his Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. Extremely proud and honoured having him training with us and sharing his knowledge with us. Now looking forward to the belt ceremony to make it all official!!... Soo Bahk!

15.01.2022 What a great spirit to see that we have "Black Belts" and White belts working together supporting each other during this weird phase of coming back to normal. We have to acknowledge that COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our society. Now when we are trying to come back to the new normal, personal support and focus on the positive is essential. We're here to train and support everyone in their own journey, we're happy to help in any way we can. However it is up to you to make... sure you are connecting to what is important to you and how you can support yourself. I'm 100% sure that we can help you with that and by training at Perth Soo Bahk Do that you will help yourself go through this period. Looking forward seeing you back at class. Soo Bahk!

14.01.2022 Wow, last weekend we had such a great event. We had our first ever Perth Soo Bahk Do Open Day. Not only was it great to be able to share what we do, connect with new people but also have some amazing time with our current students as well. We loved meeting the new people who joined us for this Open Day and we were happy to see the interaction of our instructors and assistants with these new people. Thank you all!! You all made this day very special. ... Soo Bahk!!

14.01.2022 I love to challenge myself and the students in achieving some amazing kicks and how to push our bodies. One way of looking at this is just another kick or technique. However if we look at the progress the students have made from when they start till a few years after we see a massive improvement in their kicks as they have developed a sense of balance and have become more aware of their bodies and their limits. This is for me always a highlight as it shows what determinatio...n can do. I remember when I first started I was the least flexible person ever and the highest I could kick was groin area. After some years of training and developing my body I was able to kick above my own head! it is amazing what a human body can do. Lets all try to get the best out of ourselves! Soo Bahk!

13.01.2022 We are so looking forward meeting new people! It will be amazing to see you all at this open day where we share with you our wonderful art, but mainly having fun and meeting new people. Join us this Saturday for our open day from 3-5pm at the Kardinya community hall. Hope to see you there

12.01.2022 For anyone who believes that basics are boring and repetitive, I invite you to challenge yourself by stringing multiple techniques which do not flow together and try to get it working well. This will not only challenge your focus, but youll gain a better understanding of balance and usefulness of the technique. I strongly believe that maintaining your basic techniques and make them interesting will cause you to fully enjoy basics. -

11.01.2022 Look at this legend go!!! First Wednesday class and he is crushing it! As per our tradition first time our students from the Kids class join us for the Wednesday session will get the opportunity to break a board to represent this massive break through of joining the Wednesday class. Awesome work Matthew!!

11.01.2022 We've got a beautiful group of instructors who are so passionate about sharing our art. One thing which keeps blowing me away how passionate our junior instructors are. Normally teenagers are challenged by teaching young kids as it is just not cool enough. Though almost every Saturday we have an amazing mix of teenage instructors who are soley there to help the kids learning our art. What an amazing group of rolemodels! I'm extremely proud of what you all are doing to share ...the art! Soo Bahk!

10.01.2022 Wow this is already a year ago. What an amazing weekend it was! Thank you so much Eve for organising this super special weekend. Special thanks to Kim Wyles SBN and Stephen Le Hars KBN for making the trip over and making it even more special. And of course to all the students with whom I travel this beautiful journey

09.01.2022 For all youth leaders, Perth Soo Bahk Do Youth Leadership Team is challenging you. The main aim is to do as many reps of the "butterfly" kick with a partner as many times as you can. Start practicing it by yourself, if you have the opportunity to work with a partner, try to keep going! Looking forward to seeing you all in action!... Soo Bahk

09.01.2022 We are having so much fun with the seated sparring! it gives so a great perspective on what Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan has to offer. It really emphasizes the turn of the hip and the contraction and expansion which helps with the techniques we do standing. Looking forward to cover this subject again :).... Soo Bahk!

09.01.2022 Quite often we have these surprises where you see something amazing growing. Over the last few weeks, we had our Youth Leadership Team taking some classes to share some of their knowledge. It has been very inspiring and amazing to see how well they did. Not only did we see the Youth Leaders excel in their teaching, but we also so some fantastic young students picking up some skills. It is absolutely a pleasure to see this happen! Great work everyone.

09.01.2022 Last Saturday we started formal training in the Dojang again. It was fantastic to see everyone again and to share what we love. All of the kids did really well. Some of them joined the Zoom sessions and the loved the kicks and the "Pizza Slice" (not completely sure what that is about, maybe Soo Kyo Ja Steyer can help with this ;)) During the adult class it was fantastic to share some of the things I learned throughout this weird time and celebrate with them all the "return" ...to training :) Just to confirm at the moment all training times are the same as before COVID-19, with exception to Haedong Kumdo. Looking forward seeing you all soon again. Soo Bahk!

08.01.2022 It has been a crazy time with COVID-19 disrupting all our normal lives. However it all seems to slowly move back to normal. Last weekend we where able to connect with a few students training outside. The instructors of Perth Soo Bahk Do are in full swing in getting things ready to soon be able to open our doors again. I can't wait to see you guys in person again and start training to bring our lives back to "normal".... Keep an eye out on your mailbox and our Facebook page for further updates. Soo Bahk!

08.01.2022 Im always impressed when students who just started and young in age can impress you with their take on things. Last Saturday we were exploring applications within our forms and look what they came up with. Love their creativity!

08.01.2022 We're picking up where we left off after COVID, which unfortunatly meant we had to cancel our mid year Dan (black belt) grading. So now we are in full swing to prepare our candidates. Two of them had the pleasure this week to train with one of our most senior instructors on Bassai (snake form).

07.01.2022 How beautiful to be part of this!! Both Craig Connor Sa Bom Nim and myself where able to join these sessions. Very humbling to have Kwang Jang Nim at home. Massive shout out to Craig Hays Sa Bom Nim for providing the sessions.... Soo Bahk!

07.01.2022 Last night the Perth Soo Bahk Do instructor team was able to catch up with Stephanie Ashley Winkler-Spoerri Sa Bom Nim for our "Meet the Master" session. It was fantastic to see her again, let alone the valuable information she has shared with the instructors. One thing for me which stood out the most was how passioned she was in getting to know each "student" (either junior or senior) and with that extending her "family". Thank you so much for your time and your positiv...ity. We all know where to sleep now next time we are in Switzerland . Soo Bahk!

05.01.2022 We've got such a great team of female students. They are really supporting each other and are feeling very safe and supported in our community. I love seeing these ladies coming together and doing some fantastic work Looking forward to see their further development and see them being a fantastic role model to our younger female students.

05.01.2022 So excited to celebrate our new Cho Dan ("Black Belt")! She so deserves it! Make sure to attend our Saturday session on 13 June to join in with this. Lets make this milestone very special for her. Soo Bahk!

04.01.2022 I love working with our instructors, it is fantastic how they commit to the development of our students. This is also a great opportunity for me to give back to them by teaching something special. Always so much fun to that with them!

04.01.2022 I always love seeing how we always work together to support each other. Last Monday was no exception our senior instructors training with senior red belts to get the best out of them. Soo Bahk!

04.01.2022 Very exciting announcement from Kwang Jang Nim H.C. Hwang. This is the year of our 75th anniversary and due to the Covid-19 pandemic we can't do this in person. Our Kwang Jang Nim, World TAC and National TAC have been able to still connect during this time and are organising a Virtual Celebration weekend for this important milestone. The dates will be from 6 Nov - 9 Nov and will be hosted Online. More information to follow, we will keep you posted. An amazing initiative from... our Kwang Jang Nim to still acknowledge this important date and connect with all students of World Moo Duk Kwan. Looking forward to it already :) Soo Bahk!

04.01.2022 Our junior students having fun with challenging gravity with their kicks. Even some older "kids" could not withstand not joining in ;). It's all about having fun. Look at them go!! Soo Bahk!

04.01.2022 What a fantastic weekend we had, after a long awaited time Kyo Sa Nim Eric Loh received his Ko Dan Ja (master) belt. He has worked very hard for it and we all where very happy to support him in this process! From all of us congratulations! Soo Bahk!

02.01.2022 What an amazing week we are having. This week our junior instructors are running their first-ever class by themselves. It is amazing to see how the future generation is passing on their knowledge of Soo Bahk Do! Very inspiring. There is still time to join in with these amazing instructors!... Hope to see you soon. Soo Bahk!

02.01.2022 Hey Team, don't forget to register for our Virtual Tournament. The instructor team has some cool ideas to get everyone included and staying connected with each other. Even though that we can't be together in the Dojang and work as a team we've come up with a few ways to still come together. Please register here: https://perthsoobahkdo.acemlna.com/lt.php... looking forward to connect with you all. Soo Bahk! Photo from our last tournament in 2018.

02.01.2022 A few classes ago we were able to celebrate Sophie Blundell who attained Dan (black belt) level. This is always a great celebration for the school as it is a massive achievement for Sophie! It is always beautiful to see how much support all the students are giving to the new black belts and to make sure this is a celebration not to forget. Thank you all for being part of this. ... Soo Bahk!

01.01.2022 So last weekend we started training back as usual with being able to use our equipment again. Which meant I challenged the kids to a balancing (Chung Shim) game. They did extremely well!!!! Great work all.

01.01.2022 Last Thursday the instructors and myself had our first ever "Meet the Master" session. It was amazing to connect with Cort Lee Stinehour Sa Bom Nim and get inspired by his advice and stories. Thanks to all the Perth Soo Bahk Do instructors to join in. I've had some great feedback and our instructors are keen to put this in practice. Soo Bahk!
