25.01.2022 The history behind one of the worlds most widely used medications:

25.01.2022 WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF PURPLE CARROTS? (Western Medical Research) This is a short summary of an article that was in the Sydney Morning Herald:... A new Australian study has shown the ancient carrot variety is high in anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants....Professor Brown ran a pre-clinical trial on rats, using purple carrots grown in Queensland. For 16 weeks, the rats were fed a high-fat, high-carbohydrate diet designed to mimic the effects of an unhealthy western diet.....the rats quickly grew fat, developed high blood pressure, became glucose intolerant (or pre-diabetic) and incurred liver and heart damage. Then, for the second eight weeks, the scientists added purple carrot juice to the rats food..... Everything went back to normal, Professor Brown said. The blood pressure went down, the collagen in the heart was back to normal, the liver histology was back to normal, the liver enzymes, the glucose tolerance, the fat pads were all back to normal, despite continuing this terrible diet. We are not rats, but this is very interesting indeed! 22.01.2022 What did we do about wisdom teeth before dentistry? In a book called, The Story of the Human Body, by Daniel E. Lieberman this question is answered: For millions of years, humans had no problems erupting their wisdom teeth, but innovations in food preparation techniques has messed up the old age system in which genes and mechanical loads from chewing interact to enable teeth and jaws to grow together properly. In fact, the prevalence of impacted wisdom teeth has many paralle...ls to osteoporosis. Just as your limbs and spine wont grow strong enough if you dont sufficiently stress your bones by walking, running and doing other activities, your jaw wont grow large enough for your teeth and your teeth wont fit properly if you dont stress your face sufficiently from chewing food. Think about what you ate today. It was probably highly processed: pureed, ground, mashed, whipped or made into bite sized pieces. Thanks to blenders, grinders and other machines, you dont have to chew at all. The bottom line here is by chewing more when you are young (eating unprocessed food), the bones in the jaw will grow to the size it was meant to and your wisdom teeth will be able to fit. Secondly, by chewing lots throughout your life, your teeth are made strong and youll be able to stay away from the dentist. www.perthtcmhealth.com.au Disclaimer: The information provided is not intended to diagnose or treat any health problem or disease. 16.01.2022 We have 3 particles (protons, neutrons, electrons) of which everything we know is made, everything we see in the world, all the diversity; you, me and everything around us. All just made from the same 3 particles with slightly different rearrangements, repeated over and over and over again - David Tong

15.01.2022 I wrote this book with the hope that whoever reads it may gain at least a small piece of wisdom or knowledge that can be used in a positive way to help others or yourself. The book is simply a compilation of ancient wisdom in regards to healthy living and psychology from the peoples of South, Central and East Asia. https://www.amazon.com//dp/0648407500/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0

13.01.2022 I feel tremendous guilt, admitted Chamath Palihapitiya, former Vice President of User Growth at Facebook, to an audience of Stanford students. He was responding to a question about his involvement in exploiting consumer behavior. The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works, he explained. In Palihapitiyas talk, he highlighted something most of us know but few really appreciate: smartphones and the social media platf...orms they support are turning us into bona fide addicts. While its easy to dismiss this claim as hyperbole, platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram leverage the very same neural circuitry used by slot machines and cocaine to keep us using their products as much as possible. Taking a closer look at the underlying science may give you pause the next time you feel your pocket buzz. http://sitn.hms.harvard.edu//dopamine-smartphones-battle-/

12.01.2022 UNBELIEVEABLE! I was once told that a dean of Harvard Universities medical school told first year med students that 50% of everything they learn will turn out to be incorrect. Now scienctists have discovered a new organ in the human body called the interstitium - actually everyone who has studied medicine knows about the interstitium - the new discovery is really about how it functions. I have to say it is quite similar to the Chinese Medicine idea of the San Jiao. ... This discovery could answer many important unresolved questions in medicine. I think we are a good 1000 years away from truly understanding the human body. Maybe one day channels (meridians) might even be found - wouldnt that be interesting. http://www.abc.net.au//scientists-discover-new-hum/9598140

11.01.2022 Craveability: Salt, sugar and fat. These three ingredients will make you crave foods that contain them and guess who knows about this formula and coined the term craveability? Yep, corporations (many restaurants too). They will add these 3 ingredients in quantities that you would never normally use if you cooked at home yourself. #health #fitness #lifestyle #life #today #wellness #tips #mindfulness #yoga #acupuncture #healthcare #wellbeing

07.01.2022 It is so interesting how evolutionary biology tells us, that in order to be healthy and for our body to work at its best, we must live a life in the way nature designed it to. It is like taking a Honda off road and wondering why its breaking down, when it was designed for bitumen roads. How far one wants to take this, is up to the individual. It might be as simple as eating wholemeal breads or as far as moving to live in the forest, where you grow your own foods. Never the less this principal must never be forgotten, for effects us on all levels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgDjVEpEOdQ
