24.01.2022 Cape to Cape stage one will not disappoint. The Telstra loop will give you a challenge we have not presented yet in this stage, you think you know it, however y...ou havent done the loop yet, buckle up! It is so hard to go past the Start/Finish line as a highlight, the most south-westerly point on the mainland of the Australian Continent, doesnt get much more hardcore than that! Start / Finish: Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, Leeuwin Rd, Augusta Distance: 39km / 856m elevation Start time: 9am (compulsory rider briefing is a t 8.45am) Stage 1 start is self seeded. Find a spot in the pack that you feel suits your ability. As you finish youll be have a coloured dot put on your race plate. This will then be your start wave for the coming stages. Dont forget to drop your bottle at info before 7.30am if you want it to be waiting for you at the 21km water point. Registration: 7am 8.30am if you did not make it to Rego on Wednesday then make sure leave yourself time to see the team at the Race village (bonus, you can fit in an extra coffee) Nosh: Get your engine going with a coffee pre race coffee at the race village. There are plenty of post race options for your to refuel; Lamb burgers, felafel burgers, chook and gravy rolls, sausage sizzle, pies, sausage rolls, soup, toasties, paninis, slices & cookies, drinks and of course beeries. To be sure you can keep your belly and tastebuds happy, eftopos is available, but cash is always a good idea. Transport & Parking: Its a 40min drive to Cape Leeuwin from Margaret river. Prior to 7am you can drop off at the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. After that head to the parking @ Augusta Boat Harbour carpark. From the parking its a 2km ride to the start line or a short bus ride for those without a bike. Free shuttle buses will be running between the carpark to the lighthouse (no bikes on the bus).
