25.01.2022 State wide total fire ban continues today with a fire danger of severe. With these conditions fire can spread very quickly. Leaving early is the best option. If you see a fire without a fire truck in attendance call 000 immediately.

23.01.2022 On Friday afternoon, 411 was responded to a garage fire in Rockley. The fire was fortunately contained to the garage by the first arriving NSW Rural Fire Servic...e brigades from Rockley, Perthville and other surrounding areas. The house and car parked in front of the garage also sustained substantial damage. We wish to remind people that when doing any sort of ‘hot work’ whether it be cutting, grinding or welding, to please make sure that you have necessary firefighting equipment close by and that the area is clear or rags and rubbish to reduce to initial fire hazards. 23.01.2022 Yesterday at around 14:00 Bathurst rescue operators responded to a single vehicle collision at Lagoon Road. Upon arrival crews found the vehicle on its roof wi...th the casualty trapped by confinement. Our crew stabilised the vehicle which enabled NSW Ambulance to safely access and treat the casualty. Our crew, alongside NSW Police Rescue and Perthville/ Georges Plains RFS worked together to extricate the casualty and once released were transported by Toll Ambulance Rescue to hospital for further treatment.

Always supervise young children in rooms with open fires or working heaters. Ensure flues and chimneys are regularly cleaned. Strong fire screens should be set up in front of open fires. Never use wheat bags in bed.

Over 16s train weekly on a Wednesday from 7pm

18.01.2022 10 November 2pm - Evans Plains - Rural Fire Service tankers attended to a grass fire on Mid Western highway. Several units responded from Perthville, Eglinton a...nd Bathurst which included a bulk water tanker. It was reported a lawnmower had sparked the fire and 5 hectares were burnt, it took about an hour to extinguish the fire. 02.01.2022 Thursday 1st October marks the start of the 2020/21 Bush Fire Danger Period for the Bathurst Regional Council area. During the Bush Fire Danger Period any person wishing to light a fire in the open will require a Fire Permit, including hazard reduction burns. A Fire Permit is required for burning activities during the Bush Fire Danger Period and helps to ensure fire is used safely, minimising the danger to you, your property, your neighbours and the community. Permits are free and can be obtained from your local permit issuing officer or the Chifley Fire Control Centre on 1300 258 737. Visit the RFS websites for great help and information in how to prepare your property.

02.01.2022 Perthville/Georges plains RFS along with a few members from Bathurst Rural Fire Brigade are set up at the NYE Party at Machattie park ready to assist with your fire plans and any questions. We are also taking donations to assist local RFS brigades. Bring your kids over to say hi and look through the truck!

The doors will be open on Wednesday night so anyone who is interested in joining the RFS aged 12 and over is invited to attend the station from 7pm. We will have plenty of activities and training for new and existing members and for the juniors something different.... If you are unable to attend training but would still like to be part of the RFS please send us a message! 100points of ID is required to become a member. Hope to see you there!
