25.01.2022 The RSPCA has a great article on Prong Collars. I am very surprised that these are still used in training today. It's time to provide the unsuspecting general public with more education on these applications. Please read and share. Thank you in advance. #animalshaverightstoo

24.01.2022 A shock-collar based containment system is not a substitute for training your dog or having a real fence. Shock collars, no matter what you call them, work by giving the dog a shock that will be physically and/or emotionally painful. Your dog will not only be shocked when they leave your yard but also when they try to come home. Scientific studies have demonstrated that dogs that are shocked can become aggressive. Thank you to Emily Breeden of pawsposeplay.com for sharing this meme. #Shock-Free #ShockFree #Shock-FreeCoalition #Shock-Free Coalition, #ShockCollars #Shock #E-Collar

18.01.2022 Many people choose to use an electric fence to contain their pets on their property but unfortunately this can be a dangerous game. This article explains why.

04.01.2022 For decades learning for our dogs has been organic and natural. It happened in their own time, with sufficient time and throughout time. Spending lots of time... talking, walking, playing and living together is the most natural and effective process of teaching there is. The connection and attachment that develops is irreplaceable. Nowadays more people live with pets than ever before. We also work more, live in smaller more confined spaces and in congested areas. That means we are expected to follow more rules. Freedom and opportunities we once took for granted, decades ago, no longer exist. Rules abound! Lifestyle and environmental changes leave pet guardians needing to seek advice and training to help with their pet’s needs and issues. The difficulty for many pet guardians is finding accredited professionals who can provide the safe, competent and compassionate services they need. Whether they require daycare, boarding, pet walkers or trainers the people you hire must be trustworthy and practice humane scientifically based methods of training and care for your pets. The last decade has seen an explosion of new businesses and people working in the pet services industry including dog trainers and training franchises; daycares, boarding kennels and pet sitters. There is no shortage of people who will use shock collars on your pets with or without your knowledge and permission. Using or allowing shock devices to be used on your four legged family members is the antithesis to providing competent, safe and compassionate care. The use of force, punishment, shock, pinch and choke collars are brutal tactics that don’t teach but, by design, hurt terrorize and intimidate. When these techniques are used on children they are considered abuse. It is time we acknowledge it is the same for animals. It is the primary purpose of this page to encourage people to use humane science based methods of training that incorporate kindness, rewards and show respect for their sentience. In our opinion, it is imperative a dog’s internal and external needs be fulfilled by allowing them to engage in what they innately feel is enjoyable normal behaviours and instincts. We believe they should enjoy as much freedom as safely possible, be given choices and a sense of control in their own lives. #painfreetraining #petcollarawareness #dogtraining #pets #petsofinstagram #stopanimalabuse #endshockcollars #timeforchange #doglover #animalrights #animalwelfare #animallaw #stopshockabuse #awfulbutlawful #bekind
