21.01.2022 Wombats bring a whole new meaning to buns of steel The skin on their behind is strong enough to withstand predator bites, so when they're feeling threatened they stick their bottom out of their burrow to block the entrance.

21.01.2022 Dinar the Sumatran Orangutan was recently taken from Perth Zoo to a specialist Veterinary centre, Animalius Vet, for a CT scan and to check his eyes. He travelled with a police escort to beat the traffic and this was the first time he had left the Zoo grounds since arriving from Toronto in 2004. He recovered well and is now back in his jungle themed home!

21.01.2022 Schnacks! Thanks Elizabeth Richards for this fan photo!

20.01.2022 Dinar has been a little under the weather and checked into the Zoo hospital. A team of our vets, veterinary specialists and doctors (who normally treat human patients!) did a thorough examination to see what was going on. The results? Dinar has a mild case of sinusitis and is on a course of antibiotics. But don't worry - he's feeling much better and is swinging in his jungle exhibit home!

20.01.2022 We're staying open until 7:30pm tomorrow night! Grab your mates and hop in

19.01.2022 We love receiving updates on our family members who have moved out of home - especially when they've found love! Perth Zoo born Negara moved to our friends at Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden in 2016 as part of the global breeding program and soon met the very dashing Elok. Despite being quite a solitary species, we're told Negara and Elok like to spend most of their time together (but still enjoy their "me" time). We can't wait to see where this budding romance leads!
