24.01.2022 What great morning out at @perupnaturesguesthouse this morning with the opening of the refurbished Mammal Hide. Works undertaken to upgrade the Mammal Hide and... surrounding area were made possible through funding from the West Australian Government’s State NRM Program. A special THANKYOU to all our volunteers who helped with the project and to those who attended the opening. It was nice to have the guys over from @southwestecodiscoveries showing them around and learning a few new things ourselves See more

11.01.2022 Watch these woylies go. Reintroducing woylies (or Brush-tailed Bettongs) to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia is part of an exciting collaborative project... called Marna Banggara, which means ‘healthy country’ or ‘prosperous country’ in the Nurungga language. Woylies are the first species to be reintroduced as part Marna Banggara and involves translocating animals from healthy populations in WA. The role woylies play in the ecosystem is very important. So much so that they’re called ecosystem engineers as they love digging which helps keep bush healthy by spreading important native plants and fungi. Marna Banggara is jointly funded through the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board Board, National Landcare Program, SA Department of the Environment and Water WWF-Australia and the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife Find out more: bit.ly/3aej8oV WWF-Australia #translocations #extinction #woylies #bettongs #MarnaBanggara #rewilding #YorkePeninsular #nativespecies

09.01.2022 After leaving Perth early on Friday to head down south for a workshop at Perup Natures Guesthouse for the Blackwood Basin Group I got word that evening that the...re was Covid in Perth and another lockdown put in place so I was in a great place. There are no phone, internet services, t.v. or radio at the Guesthouse so I highly recommend a stay at some time. It was the ultimate disconnection to really connect. It was so quiet you could hear the bush humming. See more
