17.01.2022 Ultimately, the goal is to maximise grip, determined by forces at the tyres contact patch. The effect of where the Centre of Gravity (COG) is what everything el...se works around. Roll Centre, Dive, Squat, Weight Transfer are all influenced by where the COG is and the suspension geometry on which acts. Understanding this makes it possible to tune to suit. With information where the COG is located becomes fundamental and leads to being able to optimise suspension geometry to suit. For example For a given position of COG, a lower instantaneous centre (line projected to contact patch) for Drive or Squat or Roll Centre produces more weight transfer. This means there’s a limit of how much total grip you have available based on load transfer, especially when a tyre is overloaded. What that does is, minimises overall potential grip which could be higher if you had more evenly distributed loads overall tyre contact patches, especially during cornering. In this project We firstly looked at the weight distribution of the car. With this information, we were able to design pickup points to optimise the handling characteristics, not just turning but also acceleration and braking.

07.01.2022 We have made an addition to make it easier to adjust the pedal ratio. Pedal Ratio is the mechanical advantage. Easiest described as the pedal lever length to pu...shrod actuation length ratio, which is your effective lever. The PE pedal assemblies have a pedal ratio of 3.5 to 4.5:1. Some believe that the pedal ratio is the ultimate factor that determines your increased ability to apply braking loads. Unfortunately, when applying a braking load, you do not magically have more power from pedal ratio. You simply only get out what you put in (in energy terms, work in = work out) . Pedal Ratio is only one part in four main influencing factors. Second is master cylinder bore, third is master cylinder stroke and lastly, your caliper pistons area. These elements combined will place a force at your brake pad which is equal to your pedal input work. Remember, there may be some losses due to friction and such. For the purpose of this example, we are excluding system efficiency. Our PE Pedal Assemblies are designed to be more compact, with a lower pedal ration than normal but with a longer stroke master cylinder (approx 30%) to increase the hydraulic ratio as a result. You still give the same pressure and displacement outputs for equivalent pedal forces and pedal travel rates. Have any questions about our pedals? 05.01.2022 Plumbed in fire extinguisher plumbing is complete! Took one mistake to realise these fittings really don’t like coming apart. Thankfully able to buy a replace...ment after destroying it trying to get apart. All worked out beautifully through the fire wall and into the engine bay. I put two nozzles aimed at the turbo, as I feel that seems to be the most common spot for fires. All 6 nozzles in the engine bay though. Got the external actuator cable pull mounted. Still need to do the internal. Also put a bit of marine carpet in the foot wells. This is glued down. I know it adds weight, but I don’t care. It’s what I want. I still need a passenger foot rest.
