22.01.2022 A recent customer of Pest n Weed. We where contacted by the customer as there efforts to try and kill off there weeds in there front lawn had been un successful with the use of hardware store options. We where told the weeds took a turn but then came back twice as bad. Over the weekend we attended and treated the problem on the spot with a chemical offering a much higher concentration of active than available to the general public that also attacks the weed in several ways w...ith a triple active ingredient offering a small residual action to prevent re growth. Wile being one of the safest chemicals available on the market. Another reason for the lack of results can be the way the chemical is applied. Pest n Weed use high quality commercial spray equipment that has been calibrated to apply the precise application rates and the optimum droplet sizes to wet the surface area of the leaf without run off ensuring maximum results. Theres a lot of science that goes into droplet size that i wont bore you with. We have since spoken with the customer and been told they are seeing results. We will be back in a few weeks to follow up on the results. As we are also working with the customer to help them achieve a greener lawn. The presentation of this property is a huge credit to the owners! And a greener lawn will just set it off that bit more. The customer was helpful enough to take some pictures of me in action. 20.01.2022 One of our current customers . We applied a broad spectrum herbicide to eliminate all the clover and broad leaf weeds. We then followed up two weeks latter with a Verti Mow and a top dress with organics to build soil structure and water retention for the up coming summer heat. In these photos the lawn had been recovering for about 3 weeks and as greened up exceptionally well. This lawn was also suffering badly from poa annua (winter grass) So an application was applied to t...he actively growing weed with a product offering a post and pre emergent treatment. To eliminate what is growing and prevent any further germination. It is under most peoples belief that winter grass will just die off in the summer. This is not entirely true under the right conditions winter grass can hang on all year round and it is an extremely prolific seeder! So left un treated it will eventually take over and choke out your lawn stealing its vital nutrition. This project is on going and i will continue to post updates. 11.01.2022 With the weather we have had leading us into spring this year it has been extremely favourable conditions for weed growth. A lot of my customers have been over run with weeds and have been really struggling to keep up. Even with there best efforts and hard yards hand weeding they have been unable to keep on top. The following photos are of a job PEST N WEED undertook today. We where asked to "Get rid of all the weeds" and "we are having trouble keeping the grass out from our ...edging and unable to mow close to our garden edges" Our solution was. We first treated all of the garden beds. Carefully working around plants that needed to be kept. We then established a chemical edge around the garden beds so they can be easily mowed neat, without the need for a wipper snipper or edger. We then treated all the pathways and driveway cracks and any weeds growing around the house. Including the road kerb edge. We then treated both front and back lawns. The lawns you see in the pictures are actually a nicely established buffalo lawn. We used a high quality triple action chemical, suited for treatments on buffalo. Buffalo being a broad leaf grass is very susceptible to most broadleaf chemical treatment so a specific choice of chemical is a must. If your having trouble with your weeds this season dont struggle with the watery products available from most hardware stores or hand weeding. 10.01.2022 Our 5 tips for a great lawn (established). Feel free to give us your tips 1. Mow regularly and water deep twice a week (pending rainfall) 2. Scarify in spring ...to remove thatch, either drop height of mower or vertimow (hire machine or call in professional) 3. Aerate lawn in spring - using lawn corer (hire machine or professional) or even a fork will do 4. PH testing of soil. Simple kits and easy to use, available from garden centres or Bunnings. 5. Slow release organic fertiliser applied in Spring, late summer and mid autumn. Nitrogen heavy in spring and low to nil nitrogen for the other seasons. A mix of seaweed solution and molasses every 4-6 weeks during year. Light top dress mid spring. Organic compost mix. Mix dependant on existing substrate conditions. Healthy soil = healthy lawn #lawnporn

08.01.2022 Sorry guys been busy lately...always a good thing! Here is a lawn we have been working on for some time with our restoration process. Ive put together some collages to try and show as honest as posible the process and results of our work. This lawn was heavily infested with weeds and once all these where treated there really wasnt alot left. This is a couch lawn, a very resilient lawn. So you will see the progress and the increase in coverage. I will continue to post updates as this lawn further improves!. This lawn is not reticulated so keeping moisture was key.

02.01.2022 Here is an update on a property we have been working closely on with the owner since last year. You will see further back in our posts. Last week we attended to treat a black beetle issue and we where astonished at the quality and health of the lawn from where it has come to now. Its a credit to the owner and just shows what can be achieved when both parties work together with high standards. The initial costs involved in the renovation have paid off and the ongoing maintena...nce on a healthy lawn is very minimal. The customer is now using an eco friendly fertilizer we provided them with for continued health and to protect to health of the soil we have worked so hard to liven up. Cheap chemical fertilizers destroy soil organisms and alter pH. We wont skimp on the quality of the products we use or the quantity applied just to win a job. Its not how we operate. Im a perfectionist and driven on results. I cant guarantee lawns will respond in the same way but you can be assured the best options are being selected. .

01.01.2022 Ok people here are a few pics of a job we are currently working on. The lawn pictured is Empire Zoysia. Zoysia is a lawn that is specifically bread to be a much slower grower and requires alot less mowing. It is a broader leaf species and there for provides more shade tolerance. The lawn pictured was suffering from moisture issues and some scaring from former fungal issues. We have applied a variety of treatments to improve the water holding and retention capabilities of the... soil and correct pH issues. Part of our restoration process. You will see some original pics, some progress pics and what the lawn is currently looking like after 3 weeks. This is an ongoing project and the customer is happy for us to share some progress photos with you. You will see the great improvement in the turf health and given time this lawn will continue to cover the patches and thrive with ongoing care. See more
