25.01.2022 Ausinspect - Also Trading as - Pesty, Once the building is properly washed, a more effective pest control is achieved. Are you aware that rodents will often follow dried urine tracks and body fat residues of other rodents that have gone before to seek shelter and food, I have found that if dried rodent urine is properly cleaned, rodent body fat removed from run lines, then it is a lot less likely that rodents will reinvest a property. In my opinion, effective Rodent Control... is often more about through repetitive cleaning than placing rodent baits and/or rodent bait stations. I have sites that have had heavy rodent infestations, where I have carried out significant washing, there has not been a rodent reinfestation in the last two years. 25.01.2022 Cleaning is essential in any effective pest control. Consider this, if the food source of insects is left to accumulate around a kitchen, be it commercial or domestic, no matter how much chemical is sprayed or baits applied, the pests will normally have a plentiful food source of food that commonly relates to a high survival rate of target pests. The fact is, where I carry out a thorough clean, of surfaces, cupboard hinges, around appliance etc'. Since introducing a thorough clean of kitchen areas as part of my pest control services, I have not heard of any significant reinfestations. To properly clean involves a lot of hard work, scrubbing on hands and knees, it is time consuming and not always pleasant, however, the results are astonishing. As a builder since 1977, cleaning has always been a necessary evil when building to achieve a good finish, I am now adopting the cleaning as a common practice for achieving better pest control. Anyone can spray a bit of chemical, similar to the fact that anyone can use a paint brush, however it takes skill, perseverance and knowledge to get the preparation right so the application and end result can be superior. Taking time to soft wash a kitchen can effectively control german cockroaches as it removes the majority of the food source, then chemicals applied are so more effective. Gone are the days of applying chemicals or placing baits in areas that are soiled with grit, grime and oils, that provide a food source for numerous pests, even the interior of drains need to be cleaned of grime. The Broad-tailed Gecko is insectivorous feeding on a wide variety of arthropods including spiders, cockroaches, crickets, moths, flies, beetles, centipedes and millipedes etc'. Firstly, I would like to thank Steve from AusInspect for just completing a pre-purchase pest inspection on a property I had already received an independent building and pest report completed by another company. I was not satisfied nor confident in the report that was completed by the other company, therefore after researching and reading reviews, I decided to contact Steve for a second opinion. Steve's written report is very detailed and informative. And the additional walk and talk video report is a very valuable source of information that shows exactly how good and professional he is at his job. The video explains plenty and makes you feel as if you were there with him during the inspection. He provides sufficient information throughout his reports and his recommendations is based on his experience and also backed up with facts from proven research. Steve responded within 24hours wanting to do the inspection, however he was not able to due to not having complete access to the property (fault lies with real estate). On the day full access was organised by agent, I immediately messaged Steve to inform him to contact the real estate and a few hours later I received a text message from Tammy AusInspect that Steve is on his way to do the inspection. Service and promptness can not be any better!! I highly recommend Steve from Aus Inspect and will be definitely saving him to my important list of contacts. My lesson learnt: Contact Steve from Aus Inspect the first time to get a proper full inspection and save myself hundreds of dollars. See more

15.01.2022 Another sub-floor reconditioning by Stephen Koelewyn, all debris removed, areas within the sub-floor washed with soap/algicide/boron. Then sand applied over soils surfaces. Sub-Floor transformed a moist, smelly environment that caused musty odours within the habitable areas of the dwelling, to a dry clean sub-floor environment. Stephen Koelewyn simply making a difference to peoples lives.

15.01.2022 Installing downlights is not as simple as just drilling holes in the ceiling. This is an example of a truss bottom cord that got in the way of installing the do...wnlight in a desired location. The damaged truss has lost it's structural integrity. Thermal insulation against the downlight is a real fire hazard. Trade work should be done by tradesman. Innocent occupants of this property (wife and children) would be totally unaware of the danger related to this type of DIY trade work. See more

15.01.2022 Damaged wall cladding observed above high roof line using my drone. Pool solar heating matting over roof has limited efficiency in heating of pool water. ... Boxed guttering is full of leaf litter, silt and debris, restricting adequate water runoff that inturn contributes to overflowing of guttering during periods of rainfall. As a licenced drone pilot, I am able to include drone footage when I'm inspecting buildings where flying a drone is permitted. Flying a drone to inspect roofs is not always possible, many areas in Sydney have no fly zones, flight also can not be undertaken in rain or periods of high winds. With many flight restrictions, I have still been able to fly a drone during most of my recent inspections. See more

09.01.2022 Adventure tourism such as this to Mt Yasur on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu may not be possible in the future. Standing on the rim of an active volcano is an ...experience of a lifetime. Seeing/feeling the awe of a volcano can not be described in words. Yesterdays White Island NZ eruption clearly emphasises the risks involved in such adventure tourism, however often risks need to be taken to learn and appreciate nature, at times nature can be totally unpredictable. In my opinion risks to ones personal safety still need to be taken from time to time, to push the envelope, as this is, at times necessary to learn, develop and/or test the boundaries. I believe that it would not be good to ban such adventure tourism as a knee-jerk response to yesterdays White Island eruption. See more

03.01.2022 General Pest Control treatment with a soft wash to exterior of house, improves the street appeal significantly. On those houses where I do a soft wash to exterior with soaps, I find that reinfestations of webbing spiders is minimal, part of the reason is that bacteria/fungi/algae is properly cleaned during a soft wash, the clean surfaces are less attractive to spiders and the waxed finishes may be a bit to slippery for spiders. Prudent to have your home soft washed when under...taking pest control. Not only is the street appeal improved, material durability is commonly increased and pest control is more effective.
