21.01.2022 Great news for Bailey who we weren’t sure if he had something more serious going on with his honking cough. Last week he went to District Maleny Vets and had an... X-ray on his throat and neck (and was so well behaved didn’t need sedation) and blood tests done to rule out illnesses. The great news is he doesn’t have anything that cannot be managed, he has bronchitis much like asthma in people would be. He may be prone to irritants and pollens and also weather conditions etc we are so relieved for him. He has some steroids/ cortisone for bad days and we are hopeful we can use a preventer/reliever in a child’s spacer for him and only use the steroid tablets as a last resort (as they do have a lot of side effects such as obesity, liver damage and skin thinning.) If you would like to meet Bailey please let us know. He is terrific with other dogs, kids and even cats to. He is 8 years young. Sweet soul who would prefer someone home a lot or who can take him places as often as possible. He does get a bit yappy when left alone. http://foundhearts.com.au/forms/adoption-application-form/

13.01.2022 WILD DOG BAITING PROGRAM SUNSHINE COAST REGION SEPTEMBER/SPRING 2020 Sunshine Coast Council will be running a Wild Dog Baiting Program (usin...g 1080 baits) in Spring 2020. *Please note this post is for information purposes not for discussion of the programme or attacking those involved. Such comments may be deleted* Baits will be used in the following locations - Bald Knob, Beerburrum, Beerwah, Belli Park, Bells Creek, Booroobin, Conondale, Coochin Creek, Crohamhurst, Curramore, Elaman Creek, Glass House Mountains, Glenview, Kenilworth, Kidaman Creek, Landsborough, Obi Obi, Peachester, Reesville, Witta, Wootha Locations are estimated based on the below map and are not exhaustive - Council has not provided a written list on their website. Please view the map for more specific details about baiting locations. Signs remain in place for four weeks after control activity ceases. Council also install additional warning signs on roadsides. - Before starting the program, council notifies all properties within a 1 km of control activities by mail. We also notify all neighbouring properties by mail. - Control activities are not undertaken on public pathways, roadsides, within five metres of a boundary fence or within 200 metres of designated dog off-leash areas Please note the following: - Domestic dogs and cats will be killed by 1080 baits. Residents must not allow pets or working dogs to access areas where baiting is being conducted. Contact a vet immediately if you suspect your domestic animal has had contact with 1080. If a 1080 baiting program is taking place in your local area, you should: - Check all gates and fences to ensure that your dogs are safely contained to your problem - Notify all visitors that a 1080 baiting program is taking place in the area - Restrain or muzzle domestic animals so they cannot access 1080 baits or poisoned animals. 10.01.2022 Update~ homes found Wanted Adoptions for Doves and Pigeons. Some are bonded pairs. All have been quarantined healthchecked wormed and mite treated. They make... wonderful Gentle birds to keep as pets as they don’t bite and are much quieter than parrots they make Terrific first birds that prefer smaller housing to other birds. Assisted rehome with a small donation for other rescue birds that may come into care.
