05.01.2022 I have never been a supporter of weed mat, the weeds still grown in between the top of the mat and the mulch and invasive weed species find their way through the edges, even when overlayed! You tend to drag the mat up during maintenance and it is a pain to deal with. Not to mention our overuse of plastics in our environment.
