20.01.2022 My beautiful girl Matilda left us on Wednesday night to join her little sister Lucy at the rainbow bridge. Petal, as she was affectionately known, was 12 years old. She was a little social butterfly and loved getting pats from anyone who was willing to give them. Without her and her sister Lucy I wouldn’t be where I am today and I wouldn’t have started Petal and Poppet Pet Services.

20.01.2022 Hi I’m putting out an urgent call for help. My elderly neighbour has just found out he is terminally ill. Paul’s greatest concern is for the wellbeing of his be...st friend Toby. Toby is a de-sexed 10 year-old fluff ball. He may only have three legs, but he is still lively and has no health issues. He is the most gorgeous little boy with a lovely calm temperament. Although Toby would prefer to be the sole household cat, he does get on well with other cats, dogs and older children. He is used to a quiet household. Toby is mainly an inside cat but does like to have a little time outside. Toby would prefer to stay with Paul for as long as possible. At this time it is not known how much time Paul has (but it’s likely to not be long). It would give him great comfort to know Toby will have a good home when the time comes. Our greatest wish is that Paul can meet Toby’s new family and know he will be happy and safe. As much as it breaks both of our hearts, unfortunately I have an elderly cat and am unable to take him. I am happy to contribute towards the cost of Toby’s life-long care. If you can help, or know someone that can, please call Kylie on 0430 544 589.

We offer twice daily visits to your pet in their own home ensuring they are safely looked after while being fed, cared for and provided with lots of pats and love. Mail collection, bin service and pot plant watering included. We also do garden watering, mail collection and bin service for those without pets.

17.01.2022 DONATIONS NEEDED We need your help to help our animals. We’re running low on the basics that keep our shelters running and our animals happy and healthy. Ou...r adoption centres accept new or second-hand items all year round, and are currently in desperate need of the following items on our wishlist: General: Paper towel Ziplock bags High quality A4 copy paper Bunnings, Coles or Woolworths gift vouchers (for maintenance needs and fruit and veg for our farm animals) Dog and puppy: Dog treats (especially training or long lasting!) Dog toys Dog collars (all sizes) Puppy pads Collapsible metal playpen or crate (M or L) Cat and kitten: Cat litter Crystal cat litter Cat treats Birds and horses: Bird toys and enrichment Horse halters (all sizes) Extra-generous asks: Telescopic tree pruner Rechargeable torches K9 Pet Carrier PP30 (medium and airline approved) Bat, bird and mammal net We’re also always on the lookout for specialised equipment for our veterinary unit. I’ve got a lot of bookings already and while I will do my best to fit my regulars in, I would hate to say no because I’m over booked. My mum has already been conned into helping me out over Christmas because I’m that busy already.

05.01.2022 We’ve welcomed a new addition into our home, Macy. She wasn’t planned especially after losing Matilda so recently, but I was asked after if I would be interested in taking her as she needed to be re-homed. After finding a photo of Matilda with Macy as a puppy, I felt like it had all be arranged by Matilda. Both Matilda and Lucy got to meet Macy as a puppy. She has settled in wonderfully. It seems likes she’s always been here. I’m having to get used to having a young, very energetic dog again. It’s lovely to no longer have to come home to such an empty house, even with both my cats Cleo and Jonah here.

04.01.2022 Today is Love Your Pet Day, but personally every day is love your pet day with me and my babies. Though we may not all be together anymore, our love for each other still exists. Today is a chance for more hugs and loving.

03.01.2022 I have homemade snuffle mats for sale. They make a great Christmas present for dogs. Sprinkle dry treats or biscuits in the fleece of the mat and let your dog use their nose to sniff them all out. Great enrichment toy. $35 each.
