NE Vic teachers if you’d like to get your students out connecting with their local waterway, why not sign up for the River Detectives program? More information and the link to register here: https://www.riverdetectives.net.au/. Petaurus Education Group delivers the Waterwatch and River Detectives program in conjunction with North East CMA.

12.01.2022 Thank you to Border Trust: Community Foundation Albury Wodonga Region for supporting such an outstanding project for the people within these communities.

12.01.2022 Sometimes it's the everyday decisions we make that have big impacts. Plastic Free July is an annual prompt to check in with choices we make around products we use and purchase. For the Squirrel Glider LAMP project and other local revegetation projects with West Hume Landcare a big decision was firstly moving away from plastic tree guards and now no tree guards at all. It does mean that a bit of work removing chewing rascally rabbits and hares is required before planting and ...it may mean some replanting next season but this is all very achievable when less plastic ends up floating around or back into landfill. Good luck with your decision making. https://www.plasticfreejuly.org/

11.01.2022 Congratulations Corryong College Hearn’s Hill Revegetating to Bring Biodiversity Back. We are excited to be working with you on this project

05.01.2022 Thank you #LandcareNSW - we are very proud to be part of the Burrumbuttock Squirrel glider LAMP project with West Hume Landcare Murray Local Land Services Department of Planning, Industry and Environment #SavingOurSpecies #Biodiversitry #HabitatConnectivity #SquirrelGlider

04.01.2022 Today we are delighted to be partnering with West Hume Landcare for a field day on protecting paddock trees. It's fitting that today is #ThreatenedSpeciesDay, ...because paddock trees are incredibly important as habitat and refuge for threatened species such as squirrel gliders and superb parrots. We would also like to acknowledge that today is extra special because it's our first "in real life" event since the pandemic began. It is really lovely to be back in the field on this glorious sunny day near Burrumbuttock, spending time & discussing paddock trees with others in our community. Here's why its so important to protect paddock trees: our research has shown that they are important "stepping stones" in agricultural landscapes, allowing species to move between patches of vegetation. stock love paddock trees for shelter! big paddock trees help improve soil structure by reducing wind and water erosion, as well as returning nutrients to the soil through decomposing animal droppings and leaf litter they often flower heavily and are great for pollinator and insect diversity.
