23.01.2022 Firstly i would like to apologise if my friends and I didn’t get to drop my leaflets in your letter box . I have had a bit of a reaction to my Melanoma treatment which Peter Mac are confident that they have fixed now but unfortunately it meant that I have been super tired. Just at the wrong times for campaigning. Thanks so much to my friends who stepped up to help too. I have attached it here for you as well. If you haven’t voted yet, don’t forget your ballots need to be int...omorrow at 6pm. It would be best to take it to the VEC office in the old Vincent’s building gone the corner of Pakenham and Annesley as the Post Offices are closed tomorrow and your votes may not get date stamped in time to be counted. Thank you to all the people who have been ringing and messaging seeking my opinions on matters important to them, I have enjoyed all of our conversations as being available to all residents is central to my approach to the role as a Councillor should I be elected. And if I am not well that is the wishes of the voters. I can reassure you that I will continue to volunteer for our community as long as I am able to. Dad did until he was 91, I hope I can do as well as him. And completely unpolitically I have attached two photos of plants I got from mum. Have a great Grand Final weekend. 21.01.2022 I thought I should let very one know what has been happening in my world over the last couple of weeks. As most people may know I was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma three years ago and I went on a clinical trial that gave absolutely fantastic results to me. I was almost the poster boy for the trial!! I had my regular 3 monthly check up the day after election nominations closed. I have had a return of the Melanoma in my brain. I have just completed my third round of radiother...apy at Peter Mac this week and I restart immunotherapy on Friday . Again my prognosis is excellent just not how I planned to spend the most critical week of the election campaign. I have been spoilt by my cousin Janne, Zen , David and my family this week. I am as always very confident that I am getting the worlds best treatment and that it will work. I thank everyone for your kind thoughts and good wishes I will not let you down. See more

21.01.2022 I thought I would let you some things about me that are not election related. I grew up on my family dairy farm at Pine Grove East , near Lockington. I now collect cream separators , butter churns and other dairy related things for no thee reason than they are things that I have enjoyed being around over the years and they are practical reminders of my growing up years

18.01.2022 Good afternoon voters and friends. The election count has now been completed and they will be confirmed this afternoon at 3. As I had expected I was not successful but not unhappy with the result I got given my difficulty campaigning this time. Congratulations to 3 brand new Echuca Ward Councillors Tony Marwood, Rob Amos and Chrissy Weller. I am sure that they will always represent us well and I do everything to support them in their term as Councillors. Now I will get back to volunteering for the community I love so much. Thank you for following my posts and offering me support.

08.01.2022 I thought today, before the C4EM/ Riv Herald candidates forum for the Echuca Ward at 7pm on the Riv Facebook site. ( only 3 candidates have made themselves available, which is quite stunning) that I would make an observation about the wards that candidates live in as opposed to the ones that they are standing in. I should say that I am not being critical of them it is just most unusual at this election. As you probably know there are two : member wards and 3 single member ...wards. 2 of the single member wards are uncontested. That is there is only one candidate standing in each. What is unusual about that is that 3 candidates standing in other wards actually live in those 2 wards. If they had stood in the wards that they live then voters would have had a choice of candidates. In the third single member ward 2 of the candidates are not residents although one did grow up there. In the Kyabram Ward 3 of the 4 candidates do not live in the Ward!! And in Echuca 3 candidates do not live in the Ward. Never before has this happened in Campaspe Shire elections. It is interesting that our local papers have so far chosen not to follow this up! Now to be very open I hope that at least 3 of the non resident candidates get elected as in my opinion they are the better candidates. And if I can give myself a plug. It would be great if you could give me your 1st, 2nd or 3rd preference vote in the Echuca Ward . Written and Authorised by Peter Baker Williams , 3 Freeman Street, Echuca 0427083286 See more

07.01.2022 Hello again I thought it might be a good idea if I shared a couple of the things that I have championed in the past that have had significant impacts in our community. As always I have led u tied teams to achieve these things. The Port Revitalization Project... I was central to developing the vision then winning State and Federal funding for the Port of Echuca Revitalization Project which is the most significant tourism infrastructure investment ever undertaken by Council done with the largest Government Grants that we have ever won. Family Recreation Infrastructure I started the walking/ cycling path development in Echuca (eg The Campaspe River Walks and the footbridges ) . We need to continue this and include underpasses to major roads like the Northern Highway and Ogilvie Avenue and extend these paths under the rail bridge into Banyula Forest. Preserving our Heritage I was the Councillor who lead the heritage protection study for Echuca and later the whole Shire. Our future depends on us protecting our past and encouraging businesses to our community who can benefit from that. I hope that you can see from these examples the deep commitment that I have to our community and how together we can achieve great things again.
