22.01.2022 "The LIghts of Florence" #Arches 300 gsm rough. #davinciwatercolor pigment #Winsorandnewton Brushes and #rosemaryandco brushes. This painting was a challenge, I had to redo the sky as it became very heavy and streaked, so the first try at the sky was removed and a second wash applied.

14.01.2022 I have been trying out the new Bahong Watercolour paper, it performed pretty well in the first two paintings I did. The third one which was done by layering many washes to create the sheen of the violin the paper did not handle the multiple layers of pigment as well. The Bahong paper is probably OK for plein air and quick sketches, but for more complex paintings where the paper needs to be reliable, I think I will be sticking to Arches.

14.01.2022 The Old Lock. This one has been lots of fun, pretty intense detail on the door handle. Lots of Light Red and Cerulean Blue in this one. ... Watercolour on Arches 300gsm Rough Winsor and Newton Pigments.

14.01.2022 Marbles A small exercise to see if I can still paint glass. Also to further test Baohong paper and see how resilient it is to this type of painting. #davincipaints #davincibrushes #baohongpaper #baohongwatercolorpaper #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolourpainting #watercolour #toowoomba

07.01.2022 "The Milk Bar", Commercial Road Prahan, Victoria.
