14.01.2022 This was a few minutes before they rolled me down the hallway for open heart surgery at 8am on the 19th of July 2020. I remember it as one of the most peaceful and calm moments of the entire process. Confronted with my own mortality and absolute lack of choice in terms of opting-out. Solitude with covid restrictions with no one close at any stage. Opting-out, would have meant death at this point.... When things are so cut and dry it is effortless to just let go. I’m thankful for so many things, for so many people. I’m thankful for a longer life, to be able to heal now and am excited to embrace the rest of it. So many of you made an effort to reach out, to comment, message, text, or just check in. While there have been too many messages to reply, I have read them all, I have noted the effort to connect and care, and I won’t forget.
