23.01.2022 Searching for Aurora Canberra - Part two. Duffy Equestrian Park. Last night at midnight I had the strong urge to go stand in the freezing cold and stare at the ...clouds for a few hours - desperately, with cold toes, wishing them away so I had a chance to see the Aurora. At 1:30am the moon set, and I had the hope of dark skies. But the clouds remained. As I moved the images off my camera just now, I noticed that there is a subtle glow on the clouds - the view is directly to the south, and no colours have been added to the photos. There's also a tree photo (looking back towards Canberra) and a moonset photo - I just thought they were pretty. #AuroraAustralis #AuroraChasers #Australia #Canberra #CBR Visit Canberra Australia.com

20.01.2022 I went on the hunt for Aurora Australis last night with some lovely Canberra photographers - we ate jelly snakes and drank Shiraz liqueur - but the clouds never cleared and the Aurora stayed hidden.
