25.01.2022 Leadership Matters - https://mailchi.mp/8375a3c7a4e3/c2ajo3y98f
24.01.2022 I have turned my Dialogue Interview series on 89.7FM Eastside Radio into YouTube Videos ... ok so they have no real visuals except an awesome photo of me and my... remarkable guests. This one is an interview with Peter Baines OAM and his story is fascinating and so worth listening to. Peter Baines OAM has led an interesting life so far. Starting his career as a police officer literally walking the beat to raising his profile as a forensic investigator Peter spent 22 years with the NSW Police leading teams in response to acts of terrorism and natural disasters on a scale not previously seen. Peter was part of the leadership team that responded to Bali after the bombings in 2002 and was called upon in 2005 to lead national and international teams in response to the Tsunami of December 26, 2004 in South East Asia. Peter headed up multiple rotations into Thailand leading international teams in the identification process of those who died. All the time his leadership theories were tested in this trying environment. Peter was engaged to work in Queensland by one of the major Australian Banks and Universities to work with their staff and clients following the devastating floods and cyclone. His messages focused on leading in uncertain times and ensuring business continuity. His final years with the NSW Police were spent on secondment to the National Institute of Forensic Science where he worked on national and international capacity building projects around counter terrorism and leadership. He spent time advising Interpol in France and the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime in South East Asia. Peter has received various awards including Australian of the Year NSW Finalist for 2010, Thought Leaders Socialpreneur of the year 2008 and being the first Australian to be awarded the international honour of a Rotary Professional Excellence Award in 2008. He has completed university studies in Law, Forensic Science and post graduate studies in Management. He has received the NSW Police Service Medal and the Australian Federal Police Operations Medal, for work in response to the Bali Bombings and the 2004 Asia Tsunami. He was the first NSW Police Officer to be awarded the Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal and Australian National Medal. Creating sustainable leadership became a passion of his after witnessing the devastating effects of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. He was deeply touched by the number of children left orphaned by the disaster and was inspired to set up an organisation that could make a significant difference in the lives of these children. In late 2005, Hands Across the Water was formed to raise funds for, and awareness of, the children of Thailand who were left orphaned. Today Hands is one of Australias fastest growing boutique charities, having raised several million dollars without spending one cent of donors money on administrative costs since its inception. 21.01.2022 The value of stopping -
20.01.2022 I started a journey 10 years ago leaving my work in the Forensic area to work with Interpol on counter terrorism. Along the way I spent time with the UN Office of Drug and Crime advising agencies in South East Asia on leadership. But I've learnt more about leadership in the last 10 years from some remarkable women who have come into my life, all challenging all what I thought was the way to lead.
17.01.2022 The new year brings the start of the 2016 riding calendar for Hands. The strength of what we achieve is largely based upon the shared experiences we create and ...the amazing sponsors we are fortunate to have with us. Tomorrow we start the first of our rides for 2016 and we acknowledge with deep appreciation our major sponsor Narta and its members and suppliers who have been with us since 2007. We also acknowledge and thank Churchill Education and Cruiseco who have decided to support Hands and for that we thank you. Without our donors, our riders, our trekkers, our supporters and volunteers what we do is not possible. So on the eve of our first ride for 2016 we say THANK YOU to all who have supported the riders, trekkers and those who simply choose to donate.

05.01.2022 Recently had a conversation with Mike Walsh a world tech expert who set aside some time to discuss a number of matters.
03.01.2022 Having spent time with both Khru Prateep and Mae Thiew in Thailand over the last month during our rides, it got me excited for our first International Women's Day Breakfast in Sydney on the 8th of March. Both will be among a select group of amazing women who will share their stories. The breakfast is not limited to women and I hope to see plenty of men along as well who wish to celebrate the amazing women in their life. Jump on line and grab your tickets early as there is limited seating at the venue.
03.01.2022 Opportunity to be involved in a seriously great leadership event. Exposing your brand to somewhere between 1500-2000 pax across the series of events. The package that can be downloaded provides details on the event and those attending.
02.01.2022 Off to spend a couple of amazing weeks in Thailand. Heading over for what will be my 14th ride in Thailand and I'm incredibly excited, to the point I'm so grat...eful that the 14th ride is as exciting as the first. At least I know having done it a couple of times that I can ride the distance so the apprehension is gone but the excitement remains. We ride into Baan Than Namchai Foundation next Friday afternoon and that could be the end of what is an amazing experience. But on the Sunday that follows I then get to take part in our first public Social Venture Program where we will change some lives in the slums of Khlong Toei, then head to Home Hug to spend time with Mae Thiew and the gorgeous kids up there. I love the opportunities more than you can imagine and love that the 14th ride is as exciting as the first. #feelinglucky
