17.01.2022 Financial accountability & responsibility is key ingredient within any organisation, including Council. As a community we expect our Council to manage our expenditure programs with solid commercial governance. I'm certain Council officers are prudent and thus will be keen to explore if we can sharpen our fiscal accountability, with executive & councillors support. We want new initiatives adopted that benefit us all across sporting & community facilities, care services - from ...childcare to aged care, services and important infrastructure etc. Post COVID I will also be keen to see how in a cost-effective way Council can proactively help those most effected, including our crucial local business. With regards to rates - this is an area of interest and in a recent report I discovered some 5.6% of all rate payers are falling behind, this is a whopping 53% rise in arrears YoY . There are many reasons for this - but blanket rate increases need to be reviewed more closely. Authorised by Peter Barclay, Canterbury Victoria

16.01.2022 As your local Independent Candidate, I will actively bring an inclusive & balanced viewpoint representing all within our community. I have grown to appreciate the importance of working with council, local businesses and the community to invest in our future, ensuring our community thrives now and in the longer term. This is the foundation and motivator of my candidacy, as I fully appreciate how important it is have a collective and informed view which reflects all residents... & local businesses with council matters and key discussions that ultimately impact us all - across heritage matters, streetscape & development, sustainability initiatives, local amenities, community programs and services. 13.01.2022 I am keen to examine initiatives that will encourage both Council & the community in adopting renewables & reducing carbon emissions. Council has a key role, especially in the area of leadership and providing incentives, rebates & education to help gain traction. Most people may not know, but council only accounts for circa 1% of Boroondara emissions. I'm keen to explore Council to develop effective incentives to encourage adoption of renewables - rebates, concessional rates..., electric charging stations are just a few examples. I also wish to explore the option of council to set up 'group buying contracts' with renewable energy providers - where residents could leverage this to purchase green solutions at a lower cost than would be achieved if doing this alone. The energy companies would be 'jumping at the gate' to participate in such a scheme. Feel free to call me 0417338438. Authorised by Peter Barclay, Canterbury Victoria.

13.01.2022 A number of residents have not yet received their Ballot Papers in the mail. This prompted me to contact the 'Victorian Electoral Commission', who advised the following: The last of the ballot material was dispatched Thursday 8th October. They expect people around our area to receive by mid-week. Our official line is that if they have not received by Friday 16th to call our office for us to arrange a replacement pack.... The AEC phone number for those that have not yet received their ballot papers is 8619 1408. If you have concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. 07.01.2022 I am delighted to be a candidate as your local representative for the Maling Ward. If you get a chance - have a look at at what we have placed into your letter box that has an overview about me. You will notice that I have been actively involved in the community on may fronts for over 10 years, as well as providing some insights as to what is important to me and the areas I will focus if successful.... Community is VERY IMPORTANT to me and from experience I know that a active Councillor can make a difference. I have grown to appreciate the importance of working with the COMMUNITY, LOCAL BUSINESS & COUNCIL striving for improvements that will ensure we will have a vibrant & thriving community. Call me anytime! Authorised by Peter Barclay, Canterbury Victoria
