25.01.2022 News item re vocal fold haemorrhage..... NOT just the domain of performers. Take note .... ....."He used to be on the phone at least 10-12 hours each day durin...g work hours and would shout and scream over the phone"..... (guessing HE needs a new job- just as much as he needs his vocal fold haemorrhage to heal.) See more

19.01.2022 This is Charlie Chaplin at age 26, photographed 100 years ago. Its believed he wrote the poem below at age 70. I feel he pretty much said it all with this one...... As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is Authenticity. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call this Respect. As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call this Maturity. As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call this Self-Confidence. As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call this Simplicity. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is Love of Oneself. As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is Modesty. As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it Fulfillment. As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart. We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing, new worlds are born. Today I know: This is Life!

18.01.2022 My new normal. Singing lessons via Zoom. Im loving this new teaching experience. While some audio quality can be lost, Im achieving so much by observing and then correcting technique in a very focused way. A studio quality microphone really helps but simple non bluetooth Apple earphones with the microphone attached on the wire as Im wearing in the pics, work perfectly well. Notice the thermometer beside the computer for regular temperature checks - just in case. Im still teaching in studio when required but keeping a very healthy distance with constant sanitising during and between students. Stay well everyone and keep singing in your isolation.
17.01.2022 On the stage of the Palace Theatre with Dimitri Klieoris. Im so proud of this young man. I helped prepare him for this, his first musical, playing the staring role of Jerry in An American In Paris on Broadway. Seeing his beautiful performance today was an experience Ill always treasure.

05.01.2022 While teaching, coaching and mentoring singers during lockdown I've found that motivation is one of the biggest hurdles. Why sing when there are no auditions to prepare for? I have asked some singers to do self tapes of themselves singing and post them. For many people it's difficult to record yourself and then listen to it, let alone post it. I've worked with Abigail Adriano for a couple of years and I gave her There's a fine, fine line from Avenue Q and asked her to record and post it. Abigail might be known to some for her work on the Australian TV series Unlisted. Here's Abi's beautiful version of There's a fine, fine line.https://youtu.be/oa9l7jLxzlA
03.01.2022 Such a pleasure to work with Christian Byers on this project. Very interesting work, analysing characteristics of Stevie Wrights voice and helping Christian find the tools to help him recreate some of them.
02.01.2022 What a great cast this is. So proud of you both, Doron Chester and Julia Dray. Congrats also to another brilliant talent I've worked with Chloé Zuel.
02.01.2022 I'm excited to be going to New York again on Friday to feed the soul and be inspired. Lots of shows, classes and sharing ideas with wonderful theatre people. I'll be back on June 20th and will be in the studio teaching again that week.
01.01.2022 Have you walked into a screen acting audition and had no idea what you were doing? Are you wanting a simple set of tools to help you feel confident making the transition into screen? Learn from those who have done it. ... Book your place via the email below! Monday night for our 4 week course. STARTS THIS COMING MONDAY! You will do a screen test each week, which will then be available to you at the end of the course. What sets this course apart is that we work with you, who are doing well in one skillset and want to transition to the screen in a space with others who are in the same position.
