20.01.2022 Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 15 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral - Severe N...ortheast Pastoral - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Flinders - Extreme Mid North - Extreme Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Riverland - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au

14.01.2022 : Message ID: 0005047 Time Message Issued: 11:10 Date Message Issued: 20/11/2020... Origin / Name: YUMALI Yumali Stubble Fire ISSUED FOR YUMALI The Yumali fire has burnt approx. 4800 hectares of grass, crop and stubble with patches of scrub also impacted. The fire progressed quickly through the vegetation with yesterday’s prevailing winds and has slowed overnight with improved conditions and is now contained. The cause of this fire was due to SA Power Infrastructure and SA Power Networks are working with fire cause investigators. CFS along with Farm Fire Units, Department of Environment and Water (DEW) crews and earth moving machinery have been actively working overnight to control this fire and are continuing to strengthen control lines. While firefighting crews are in attendance and mopping up the fire edge, the machinery is working around the edges to put mineral earth breaks in place. This fire is likely to continue producing smoke in the area for some time. If you suffer from any respiratory illnesses, please consider closing doors and windows. If you need to travel in the area, be aware smoke may impair your visibility. Please take care and drive to the conditions. For updates visit the CFS website (www.cfs.sa.gov.au) or phone the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361.

12.01.2022 The Templers fireground has been declared safe, but should serve as a reminder of the very real risk we are facing this summer. The fire moved extremely fast an...d it was only because of the quick response of our volunteers, supported by other agencies and the community, that we were able to get a handle on it as soon as we did. This afternoon's weather has the potential to see more fires like it. If you’re in an area with an Extreme or Severe Fire Danger Rating, please make sure that you have a 5 Minute Bushfire Plan (https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/prepare-f/5-minute-bushfire-plan/) or make your way to you closest or most convenient Bushfire Safer Place (https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/prepare-fo/bushfire-safer-places/). If you’re in an area where there aren’t Total Fire Bans, still ensure you’re still taking care to adapt your activities and behaviours to the conditions you're experiencing. Stay safe and know that our volunteers will be here if you need them.

12.01.2022 Bushfire Emergency Warning : issued for TEMPLERS near ROSEWORTHY AND FREELING This fire may pose a threat to lives directly in its path. Act now. Leave, if th...e path is clear to a safer place, as it will soon be too dangerous to drive. If you cannot leave, identify where you will seek shelter from the bushfire. Heat from the fire will kill you. Do not enter this area as conditions are dangerous. The TEMPLERS, HORROCKS HIGHWAY fire is uncontrolled. This grass fire is burning in a South Easterly towards ROSEWORTHY, SANDY CREEK, FREELING and LYNDOCH. Conditions are continually changing. For updates listen to your local ABC radio station on a battery powered radio, visit the CFS website https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au or call the Bushfire Information Hotline 1800 362 361. Homes that have been built to withstand a bushfire and are prepared to the highest level may provide safety. You may lose power, water, phone and data connections. Fire crews are responding but you should not expect a firefighter at your door. WHAT TO DO: Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan. Protect yourself from the fire’s heat put on protective clothing. Tell family or friends of your plans. IF YOU ARE LEAVING: Leave now, don’t delay. Roads may become blocked or access may change. Smoke will reduce visibility. Secure your pets for travel. If you become stuck in your car, park away from bushes, cover yourself, get onto the floor as the windows may break from the intense heat. IF YOU CAN’T LEAVE: Identify a spot to shelter in, with more than one exit. Keep moving so you are away from the heat of the fire. Move flammable materials such as doormats, wheelie bins and outdoor furniture away from your house. Close doors and windows to keep smoke out. Bring pets inside and restrain them. If you have sprinklers, turn them on to wet the area. If the building catches fire, go to an area already burnt. Check around you for anything burning.
